Engine and Tranny

Hey guys i'm totally new to this fourm. I just picked up a 06 2.4 5 speed, and i was thinking about going turbo with the hahn kit. My question is what will the stock engine hold power wise. I read 400 hp and read the 5 speed holds less than an auto. I know that the kit is made for a stock car but will it be reliable or should the engine also have some work done to it.

Also, i have a k&n intake, i read some people were having problem with the car idling high, what is the stock idle rpm. Thanks for the help.

i know the engine internals could handle quite a bit but forged pistons are recommended.

the 5 speed gearbox on the other hand doesnt hold up as much (its only rated 170tq if i remember correctly)

Hahn and plenty of other guys have run 400-500WHP thru the stock parts on these cars. But since you are spending the money on a turbo kit for your car, go as far as getting a new flywheel and clutch and you should be fine.

I've got 25,000 miles through my transmission/engine with about 85hp more than stock. Still going strong, and no rediculous slippage.
