Exhaust on a stock engine
Would it be plain stupid of me to get a 2.5" catted downpipe and a 2.5" catted exhaust and have it all hooked up before I got the supercharger for my car? I don't like the sound of the stock flared exhaust on my car, it seems to rattle a little. So, opinions?

Great! I realized I have no use for a turbo in my car as I live in a more city area. So now I had to decide whether to get the downpipe and exhaust now or all 3 parts later.

Before you take that advice you'd best be sure that's as true in Pittsburgh as it may be in Pharr, Texas. Otherwise you'll be back here in a couple of weeks complaining that you failed emissions.
Beyond that, what they're telling you is true. It's never a bad time to put a good sounding exhaust on the car.
