Really cuz I was catless when I did my inspection this year and I passed just fine.

And yes sox fan he does need to hope its true there like it is here. I could run a open downpipe and still pass lol

Not sure if you got your answer/I'm too tired to read 6 pages. So excuse me if I'm redundant

It's not a stupid idea. If you want maximum performance + maximum future proofing + meet emissions/noise legal requirements.

Than

(Assuming zzp exhaust - too tired to read 6 pages)

Chose

3 inch downpipe turbo LSJ
Cat'd
Muffler delete

Add to cart

Source the cheapest muffler in your budget limit, from another vendor
With a 3 inch inlet, and a restriction of 2.25/2.5

When you go supercharged/turbo buy the highest performing 3 inch inlet/3inch exit muffler in your budget limit. I run a cheap $50 flow master, sounds great, does its job, looks shitty.

Your 2.5 inch solution is not a bad idea to save money on your first exhaust budget. You will need a restrictive muffler to maximize NA power, replace with non restrictive 2.5 in / 2.5 exit when you go forced air for best results.

3 inch is ideal and you will not lost performance NA as long as you have a restriction.

My vote is save the cash, do it right. And don't get hung up on re-using the stock 2.5 / 2.25 stock muffler.

I also am willing to ship you my old stock exhaust for free if you need the parts. I just would like you to pay for shipping $$. I don't want to incur a cost or profit etc.

I wouldn't recommend getting a 3 inch exhaust if hes going sc...unless hes gonna be strapping on a tvs

For me, I actually kinda felt empty after my build was over with, girl told me I was more excited with the journey rather than the end goal .

I also noticed a change in how I drive, I drive much more legally/ slower overall.

Kinda figured that with a NA car, you are kind of compelled to drive it aggressively, since you need to be at 5k+ to get power.

Car has 3 times as much power and I drive 3 times slower now lol.

Oh, and make SURE you budget in better tires. I had some seriously dangerous traction problems after turbo. be careful in rain as well, I had some scary moments before I got used to the car again.

Also, if your street racing, try and make sure you are in the right lane. The increased TQ steer can make you collide if you are in the left lane. Pretty much have right wheel drive, instead of front wheel drive lol.

I also noticed its pretty much impossible for me to street race at city speeds anymore, too easy to go from 50km-140km / 30-80 mph (3rd gear)

I just race on highways now, need all the road I can get. But now I'm moving back to a city, so I wish I was SC!

After awhile you'll get used to the power, or kill yourself....which ever comes first ! Rofl!

I remember when I first drove my 2.4 after my 2.2, and I was blown away by the 25-30hp difference. You'll like the turbo!

Remember, tires, clutch, and possibly poly inserts to support the kit

My tires are pretty good. They are the new nittos. And I think he's auto so he doesn't really have to worry about a clutch.

And I pretty much drive like a grandma most of the time.
