dude run the car at idle put your foot over the tip covering the hole and listen for a leak. sounds like you might have on. or just listen under the car.

^^^Yeah, sounds like an exhaust leak to me if it's a noticeable change. Outside temp really makes no noticeable difference in the tone or volume on my car.

definitely sounds like a leak to me. I would check all the connections from your header on back. Try to listen for any leaks or vibrations, one of the connections could just be loose. Cold air never made my old car's exhaust sound any louder. I had a header leak on my old car, a 95 accord, between the header and cat and until i fixed it by replacing the gasket it sounded like wet farts on leather every time i gased it

you don't need to take it to a shop if it's just a leak. You could fix that yourself easily just by getting under the car and checking the connections by either listening or placing your hand near any connections to feel any air leaking while the car is at idle. If it's loose just re-tighten, and if you need a new gasket just pick one up from the nearest auto parts shop, autozone etc. and install where needed. Who installed the exhaust for you?

itll just get louder. youll eventually sound like a race car thats raspy and shitty. my car was so loud that at idle, people around my car had to hold their ears (in parking garages)

yeah sounds like a leak but I have noticed a pretty big differance in starting in the cold, although, this is from Canadian winters.... -20C to -35C or colder starts.... I think the coldest I have ever started my car was at -47C or something like that.

don't take it to a shop. do it yourself. cover the tailpipe and you will know if you have a leak. or even get under the car, and have a friend hold the tailpipe and feel around the seals.

glad it's fixed, but to the ones that said air temps don't change the sound, it might not on yours, but mine is TWICE as loud inside the car when it's cold outside, versus when it warm

There used to be a place online where you could buy these like 3 piece interlocking exhaust flange covers for headers. I wanna say the place was hugeleys er sumpin similar. Any ways they work great to prevent exhaust leaks because the solid up the connection really well.
