Fan problem

I dont think this is normal but I've been egnoring a problem for the last few weeks.
First thing in the morning I'll start my car, and maybe after 2-3 min of idling my fan will run. At that point I think the coolant is only at about 40 C. As soon as I start rolling it shuts off.
Is this normal? I dont remember it ever doing it before. I changed my thermostat a couple months ago, so I'm hoping it wouldnt be that again.

I dont know if this is related, but it started shortly after I installed my Vibrant dp/header, and of coarse I have the P0420 for the 02 sensor.
I was told by a friend that it could be the relay, but would it not then run all the time, or not at all?
Any help would be great

thanks

Your fan should run when your vehicle is stationary. Once you start moving, the motion of the car will force air through the radiator and your fan won't be powered anymore. That is completely normal, even when the vehicle is cold.

I can't help you on the 02 sensor issue. You do have a cat in your new DP, right?

yeah it is catted.
The last time I had it at the dealer they were telling me that my fan was acting wierd, and coming on at funny times, but if thats normal then I wont worry about it. Its not overheating or anything.
thanks
