a few HPT questions..

Hey guys. Few quick HPT questions..

So, been thinking about getting HPT for awhile, and I finally found a guy reasonably close who will do a 2.4 auto and not just LSJ's.. Currently I'm under "light tune" with a GMPP catback and an Injen CAI. I had a ZZP header/dp and Shift Plus but removed them. I'm gonna get another combo though come spring.

Having that said, I was wondering what HPT tricks I should perform to make the most out of the auto LE5 with basic mods. Apparently the LE5 auto really opens up with a tune.. So what should I be looking for? I heard advance shift points, remove rev limiter, remove governor, aux fan temp drop, etc. Anything else? Is there anything that can adjust the throttle to be more instant at low speeds like it is at higher speeds? There's alot of lag it seems like. Also, anything to make your VVT kick in at a lower RPM like a VTEC controller for a Honda?

Also, what other mods would you guys suggest to add on that would really advance the tune?I'd like to eventually go s/c, but for now, just bolt ons and such.

Any help would be awesome. Thanks!!

Yes, I still have your tune. And I'll likely just have the guy work off that.. But I didn't know about the VVT thing, etc. Honestly, I've been so crazy lately with work and school that I can't remember what was discussed last week let alone last year.. haha

No one else??

I believe that tune was just with Intake and Catback. Nothing else. That's what I still have, but I will be adding another header/dp combo come Spring and he said he'll retune it then.. I had a header/dp, and was gonna go HPT, but I hated how that combo sounded..

Dude, do what I do. Buy your **** used. For real. You save a fortune. I got almost every piece of my car (that was modded) used. You probably save like half.. Also, install what you can yourself. Install fees are gay. lol

That was my issue. It was loud as **** with the GMPP catback and ZZP combo. But for some reason, my GMPP is louder than anyone's I've ever been next to with the same catback? I might replace the muffler with something else to try to quiet it down. The packing is probably pretty much gone now..

You have an '08. They are not supported by HPT. Your only option is to go Trifecta or find someone who tunes with LS2Edit.

Can you disable traction control with HPT? Either entirely remove it OR remove it from the Intermediate gear? I know that it automatically removes t/c when you put it in Low, but I'd like to either entirely remove it or remove it in Intermediate. I'm not a bit fan of traction control..

Yes it can be removed completly. Also putting it into "I", some traction control is still there.

As far as other adjusments. Try getting more timing out of the car, lower the p/e points and really get aggressive with the trans and get a trans cooler.

From what I remember hearing I don't think HPT can control or change the VVT
