Yeah, PTuning. I'll get it on a dyno here eventually. Looking for 180-185whp hopefully.

Yeah, even with the 7,100rpm redline i've still been shifting around 6,800-6,900. Too scared really to bring it up to full redline. During datalogging I hit 7,076 though. Just b/c I have it set at 7,100 dosen't mean im gonna be shifting it there, lol. Like Joe said, raising the redline up to 7,100 was mainly to make it more responsive when shifting into the next gear.

I'll tune my car when my warranty runs out
And gives extra revs to power shift so your less likely to bounce the rev limiter.

But I still take it to my dealer and they work on it though since they are a very mod friendly dealer. Heck my buddy with N2o still goes in from time to time lol

I don't know how mod friendly mine is but the guy at the front just looks like a dick. He looked at me like i had 2 heads when I told him what happened when someone stole my lug nuts, and I needed new ones. And told me "go buy new ones at a store what are you coming here for" so now I don't have matching lug nuts! WTF!!!! And then got annoyed when I asked him if they could at least tighten the bolts with an air gun. Bumper to bumper warranty shouldn't he have given me lug nuts?! But I'm only at 2750k so I got lots of warranty and really don't wanna void any of it before it runs out. Never know when u might need it.

My dealership is very anti-mod. My warranty got voided last September.

LE5 2.4 tuning
Josh, glad you are happy with the tune!!
Sean (iLLmaTic3s) and anyone else....
Hey, guys, I turned 62 today and messed with cars for much of my life (except raising a daughter myself for about the last 15 years), which put a "hold" on the car stuff. I worked my way through college and got a MSME. Got interested again in today's tech, expecially engine management. Spent a lot of time coming up to date reading and researching. Bottom line:
I DO NOT want to "share" tunes!!!!!!!!
There seems to be two trains of thought here:
1. Just copy and try someone else's work and call yourself a "tooner".
2. REALLY want to learn this complex process and spend the time reading and learning to understand.
PLEASE have some respect for the #2's and the efforts made, whether they are an amateur or professional trying to make a living at tuning.
For anyone who wants to learn:
--- Read the excellent "how to" by REDFOCZ (who WANTS to learn!!) and spent a lot of time putting THIS together....
--- IMHO, one of the best books currently out on tuning is "Engine Management Advanced Tuning" by Greg Banish. It's a pretty good buy on Amazon!
As for "file sharing"...
I would be more than willing to share a good configuration file for scanning with HPT. That, and understanding what's happening, is PRIMARY to learning tuning.
Time permitting, I would be more that glad to answer questions about the basics or dealing with a particular area.
Just DO NOT ask for a copy of any tune!

word i hear u man. after so much loggin of my car and tuning finally have gotten this car down on a solid tune.and especially gotten down a nice auto tune..many people have had issues and even redforz and i have spoken about going thru with the auto 2.4...a solid and steady tune on the auto 2.4 will make the car react totally different when dialed in..well word for tuned 2.4's..lol

And def no bottle for me. As much as I love the idea.....I just can't do it. My car is my daily driver, and is just barely over the hump as I broke 50k today. I just can't afford an epic failure in my engine, and wouldn't have time to fix it if something big did happen.
#49
Did you dyno it too or just do the plug-in? How much did it run you? What exact tweaks did you have done? I really want to do it next summer.. Heard a LOT of good things about the LE5 with one.. Mine would be an auto tube BTW.. I heard the auto is tremendous afterwards..

I feel 190whp is a bit steep. I believe REDFOCZ got 186whp w/ an intake, full exhaust and a ported TB. Only difference between mine and his mod setup is im cat-less and he's not, and he's got that ported TB....but thats really only good for throttle response, not making power. If I could make what he made i'd be happy. If I achieved 190whp i'd be giddy, but like my roomate, who is also a car junkie said........when going to a dyno, always set your goal hp low, that way you won't be dissapointed if it hits a lower figure than you wanted. If I can get 180whp-185whp, i'll be satisfied.
