If my memory serves, I could chirp as NA 2.4 in 2nd, all I had was k and n typhoon.
If I remember right 4800-5500 was peak power for me when I was NA, try and keep your revs around 5k in 2nd/3rd for the most output.
All things being equal, the F23 takes less torque to rotate than the 4T45, so the 5 speed will edge out on wheel TQ/HP
Guessing the auto shifts better than you/grass is greener on the other side
For pulls, stay @ 4800-5000 in 2nd/3rd than WOT to 3rd/4th respectively. You want a bit of torque lead up until 5252
Also, as far as chirping tires, it's not a bad thing if you can't, you could just have really good tires :P

You'll need to "feel" out your car. If my memory servesI got close to my limiter, would up shift and try to be, close to 5k ish in the next gear.
Don't take this as gospel, but I'm pretty sure I read our F23, has long gears. Auto is prolly shorter.
My 2 cents, find a quiet safe country backroad at 2 AM, and practice to find your sweet spot. That's how I practice.
And to re-iterate what I said earlier + others, chirping Is not desirable/good thing. Ideally you want none.

i cannot agree with you on that. maybe if the person is new to the car with a manual tranny. back when i had my 04 cobalt stock 2.2. cai i could race my buddy in his pontiac g5 2.2 auto and walk all over him. later on i put in a stage 3 clutch and would then leave him in my dust big time. i could break loose in 2nd and chirp 3rd. then again alot of people told me that my car was an odity. i even raced a same year cavi with alot of work done and supposedly punched out a lil and would keep with him.

a cold air intake L61, f23, might be 115WHP
So for a cavalier with alot of work done, being able to stay close is commendable!
