Buy it if ure a SS/Na and would be happy with 200whp max. I think the GMPP might get restrictive a little arounf 260-270+WHP. I think 10whp is alot for any catback, but might be possible. GMPP catback, overall, nice upgrade. Do it! I like the sound of the touring over perf any day. Same agains everything, jsut one sounds a little more quiet and alot deeper.

The header I can go with Pacesetter and the downpipe I would have custom made. I agree the ones I've seen are expensive too. between the header, down pipe and cat back going off the dyno results I've seen I'd guess around 20 hp. Between that and my intake which has been dynoed to above 10 hp and the tune I'm getting from DOC I'm hoping to see around 200 at the crank maybe even stock SC #'s, who knows? But I'll tell you all when I do it!

Hey man, the GMPP is 2.5 and has a wonderful deep tone sound to it. I just got it last week and it sounds way better than a rice burner.

This is the size of a stock 2.4 exhaust for comparison (from a previous post.)

The manifold of the 2.4 narrows down to less than 1 3/4" at its most restrictive part (by the o2 sensor) before expanding again to 2 1/4" as it connects to the downpipe.

The downpipe flange is 2.5" by the accordian flex section, but quickly narrows to 2" at the cat.

The resonator is 2" id through out it's length. From the resonator to the rear axle is 2.25". From there it narrows to 2" till it enters the muffler.

I measured it, so I know these measurements are accurate.

I have a 2.5" setup that I really like. It has great low-mid range too.

so then there is a difference from the 2.4 and 2.0 good stuff yeah the stock setup is really weird wonder why they did it like that

I am not trying to argue with Sushi, but I thought when I measured my stock exhaust it was 2.5 from the resonator to the rear axle, and 2.25 the rest of the way. Was sure of it. I still have a straight bit of pipe in there as the shop only replaced what they needed to. I'll re-check it the next chance I get.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

The first picture is of the stock 2.4 resonator at 2" id.

The next picture is of the 2" section that goes over the axle. Note a crimp behind the cut place restricting the pipe even further to maybe 1 7/8" or less.

The last picture is a head on shot of the same 2" id. cut pipe.

Damn. Well, thanks for posting the pics Sushi. now I'm a bit concerned about what my shop has done. If I told them my stock plumbing was 2.5 up to the axle and just to replace the section after that, I would have liked to have known that I was wrong and that more needed replacing... Going to have to take a look underneath once it warms up a bit.

You've got to replace your resonator, cause it's 2" too.

Yeah touring costs more but is quieter. I'm getting the touring cause the sport would be odd on a sedan IMO.

The quieter exhaust likely has a bigger, longer, or perhaps better designed resonator. The louder one may not have one at all - not sure.

Also, decibel tests likely vary from state to state and province to province, so the "check your local laws" thing here definitely applies. There's a reason why so many car parts say "for off-road use only" on them!

Price

i think the Touring exh now at the dealer is around 540$ cuz the sale is over there was a march sale. thats an ok price i guess. but i got my sport for 400 on sale which was awsome. ooh and dont forget it doesnt come with tip. and the tips are about 50 or 60 bucks extra.
