GMPP manifold - sensor?

I just ordered my GMPP extrude honed manifold, and I have read that it has a hole for a sensor in it (which needs to be plugged with a bong).

Can I add a wideband in there? I was told that an O2 sensor cannot be placed in a header... is that true? why?

want to melt the sensor potentially?

And the bung, not bong, is for SAI.

Ah.... yes you’re right, didn’t think of that stupide SAI thing....

So i would need to replace my OEM sensor with that one then i guess

If you're popping your CAT off then use the second bung in the DP for your WB sensor.

You have an 07 SS 2.4? No SAI and the H02S sensor is already in the manifold -- The GMPP ext-honed manifold is the exact same casting as your 07 SS 2.4 manifold. H02S is in the same place on both manifolds.

When you take your manifold out you will have to remove the H02S sensor and install it in your GMPP ext-honed manifold. Remember to clear the DTCs by erasing with a scanner (even if you don't have a DTC recorded) so that the H02S sensor will start relearning -- this is step in the factory service manual...not my suggestion!

oh cool, thank you, I wouldn't have thought of that (it doesn't throw CEL's anyway but I'll do it)

Okay let's start this ball game again:
I have just spent 30 minutes in the search function looking for dyno sheets on this manifold... What kind of gains can we get with that manifold?
(people claim a 4-6 WHP gain, and unkown torque gain.... any REAL numbers????)

those are just speculations.........

I believe that Chevy claims 7% increase in flow for the 2.0 SC. Nothing is stated about the 2.4 or 2.2. Originally when Chevy/GM sold this manifold it was listed for the 2.0 only, but us Cobalt owners knew better...! The manifold on your SS/NA is the same one -- the GMPP ext-honed manifold is the same manifold put cleaned up/ported by the extrude-honed method.

ya I know all that, I was just looking for real dyno numbers for this manifold... they don't really seem to exist on this forum...!

I haven't seen any either. Too expensive just to put the GMPP manifold on and test it.
