Got my Westers Tune!
Drove down to Westers Garage (http://westersgarage.eidnet.org/Index2.htm) in Tilley, Alberta today--about 200kms from Calgary.
Lyndon took the ECM out, downloaded an update from GM and then uploaded the new ECU program.
Car feels noticeably faster, heres what I noticed most:
It pulls harder in all the gears but I noticed it in first and third the most. Seems to rev up faster.
In fact it pulls quite hard in third gear over 100km/h.
Alot more 2nd gear rubber!
I love shfting at 7000+ rpm! I hated that #%#@$@ 6850 fuel shut off---I'd hit it every so often at the track.
You can feel the torque increase everywhere although its not a massive improvement (its still a NA 4 cly afterall)---to get best results you still have to wind her up
Seat of the pants guesstimate is that I can knock off 0.3 and pick up 3 mph
I am going to the track on friday, so I will post my findings.
Baed on what I have experinced so far, I'd recomend them. He really knows his stuff. While I was there, lots of ECMs came via courrier and the phone was pretty busy (some one with an Escalade and Northstar Caddy)
In the shop was a fuel injected 302 Ford Ranger, C5 Corvette, SSR and 63 Corvette Stingray with a Supercharged 350 Tuned-port.
For you LSJ guys he will be shortly working on an ECM tune for you!

Ok, I'm a newbie at this since I haven't had a car a tune was available for since back in the good ol' days of replaceable memcals.
If the car is tuned and has to go to GM for warranty work and GM uploads a newer program, is the tune lost?

no the tune does not get lost if you get it flashed for updates from the dealer, they won't even know its there. And from what i've seen the tunes are really pretty close to the same i dynod at 159whp w/Intake & exhaust from vector and jerryg was i think 161whp w/intake header and maybe exhaust. But to be honest there's not a whole lot of guys on here with them so its kinda hard to really tell.

The price includes shipping--although you do have to pay up front for it.
