With this kit coming out now... we need to see what kind of power the 4T45E can handle with just a trans cooler. It's been rumored that it can handle 230ft-lb torque stock... but up to 325 ft-lb with a cooler and high-stall tq converter. Any input on this Bill? Anyone else?
haha yea i bit my tounge on that one. i think he should be given me some good feedback haha

One question - do you plan for your reflash to include disabling the factory speed limiter, or at least extending it to 155mph? I'm assuming since this puppy is still putting out 230+ hp at speed limt, it's capable of of a hell of a lot more..

On the manual prototype system turbo - Hahn, I will PM you and also email Brad seperately. I am MTx owner and I want the BEST kit that is going to be SAFE with current engine internals.. that is unless your MTx proto runs like a grand more than the perfectly awesome solution you've already provided...

Should we expect a noticeable hp difference between the two systems, or between the system we are talking about here - any sort of difference between MTx and ATx when it comes to power to the wheels?
We aren't comfortable with extending the speed limiter...it's impossible for us to ensure that the appropriate higher speed rated tires would be used, so it's a legal and safety quagmire.

There's typically more parasitic power loss in an automatic trans application as compared to manual...but this is not a given. It will be interesting for us to see what the manual cars will do with this system for comparison's sake.

well thats smart i guess for hahn. my speed limiter is at 145 the car doesnt go higher than 125 right now it leans out. but i think after turbo im sure itl do atleast 150mph. but the tires are only rated for 135 stock pirellis. i dont have the money to buy new ones yet. so i think 135 is the limit id like to get that high quickly sometime. rev limiter is probly maybe on our cars 7k or 6900 not sure but mine is 7100 but i think 7k is so plenty specially for turbo.

I certainly understand your concern, and thank you for putting safet equal to performance - it makes me that much more comfortable with my budding decision!

However - and just for arguments sake - will certain aspects of the tune, like the speed limiter for example, still be available through HPTuners? Or say a vehicle has already had it's speed limeter removed.. it will stay removed once you reflash?

im sure since if hahn uses hptuners for this turbo. and like mine is set higher. and reflashing it for the turbo would put it down to what hahn recomends. im sure you can go to someone with hptuners and just set it higher its easy.

yes the seem very reputable when i started researching them last fall. and this seems like its the only option for charging our cars when it comes to premade stuff. and 4k seems a fair price. and we would still need afr gauge boost gauge and maybe volt gauge but thats what i want and an a-pillar.

If you and or any other manual 2.4 Cobalt prospects want to discuss this, please pm me and we will begin a dialogue!
is this the kit you are speaking of? if so, what are the differences in the two kits, other than the turbo?

No need to go that fast! What do you think your racing in the Cannon Ball Run? Besides at those speeds you wreck and they're hosing you off the highway! Our cars are good to what 120 or 130 something? Christ thats fast enough in a little econo car!

Besides if you ain't beaten them by 120 you damn sure ain't gonna reel em in at 160!

Remember its a Cobalt, not a Corvette.

Old Hahn Turbo
I think the old one has a larger charger and the plumbing is a bit different. In other words, the new one is designed specifically to fit around the automatic tran - but will work with either. The old would ONLY work with the manual.

Apparently the old one would be a better option if you have a manual and at some point decide to sure up the engine to go 400 hp+.. which I, personally, do not.

NEWS NEWS NEWS - I WANT SOME!!

Will Bill go to the track tomorrow?

Will financing be available to boost sales??

Will the Hahn turbosystem for the 2.4 actually be available THIS MONTH??!?!

Stay tuned.. I guess..

Edit - and the reason I was asking about speed limiter is it looks like this is cutting off at 112 mph, stock limiter is supposedly 118. That just seems a *teeny* bit slow to me, about 135 should be perfect, imo..
