Yea that was my next question I am running a dc sports catback 2.5 inch with downpipe and header. I think my current setup should be fine for the turbo.

If you read Hahn's site - and Bill actually mentioned it earlier - the boost will work fine even with your stock exhaust.

Granted a new high-flow cat and aftermarket cat-back will give you more from your turbo - but plenty of the ss/sc guys use the GMPP and other catback systems and we'll all be in the same range, so it isn't like you HAVE TO purchase a new exhaust if you don't want to/can't afford it... but $500 more for a Hahn exhaust specially made for this system, can't beat that.

Of course as you all know you can throw your aftermarket headers and CAI's in the dumpster, or on eBay...

Yeah, well a smart 2.2 driver.. or even a 2.4 who's planning to stay n/a will be able to get a bargain really soon.

I'm so glad this news came out when it did, I was about to spend the rest of the summer going bolt-on crazy, and now the only thing I have to worry about is catback .

OMG the wife said she wouldn't bitch about me getting it! The green flag was waived at home so this is one step closer!

If we can't finance it I'll still have it by the end of July!

Either way it will be mine!

It is reasonable to assume that this kit could be modified to fit any GM with the LE5 engine and the E67 ECM. I believe that is any front wheel drive LE5 car. HHR's, Cobalts, G5's, and Ions. You would probably just have to play with the duct routing.

The Ion's engine bay is larger the a cobalt, should fit jut fine. IN a couple years I might get this but I like my 100,000 mile warranty.

it cant void the warranty unless the turbo is the reason why it broke. same thing with an intake or a header, however dealers put up a bigger fight with a turbo. and my 06 cobalt has a ******* 36,000 mile warranty WHO DOES THAT?! ahah

Yeah, in fact Hahn mentioned in the original post they were looking at the HHR and 2.4 Cobalt when designing the system. That list would also include the base malibu, vue and a few others I believe...

It's really a good idea on Hahn's part - the LE5 being the newest ecotec platform and used on so many cars, and since it's vvt and performs about like a 3 liter v6 stock, it will probably be seen in many more GM's in the future.

Well, the 100k warranty covers the powertrain. I believe a dealer could make an easy claim that a turbocharger was the root of an engine or transmission problem, unless of course it is a problem documented on a lot of non-boosted vehicles as well.

I thought the 06's had a 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain?

Dyno Runs for your entertainment

Here's a before and after analysis of the car that will be featured in GM High Tech Performance magazine. It's a 2007 SSS (SS sedan, as Tim pointed out!).

This car was equipped with a GMPP catback and CAI in the 'before' test. Same catback with the turbo in the 'after'. Of course, the CAI was removed and replaced with the included turbocharged air intake system.

The before curve is different from the after curve in that we began the test earlier in the after run. So, we can't compare 2nd gear. But we can compare 3rd and 4th.

To me, no dyno number means beans without an accompaning graph, so here it is. In the interest of full disclosure and no shenanigans, we even show you the climate conditions of the test sessions. You'll note it was cool, high 50s, with reasonable humidity. And I smoothed the data to remove potentially misleading high spikes.

These power and torque curves are as pretty as can be. Broad, flat, and fat...look at all the torque! Power you can use, all the way through.

This car made an honest peak 237 WHP (calculates to 279 engine HP), and while you can see 220-plus wheel torque, there's more than that available at lower RPM...such lower RPM just won't show up on a dyno graph with an automatic, for she will always downshift.

(Note: for those of you not used to viewing dyno charts, disregard those high spikes. We don't claim those as the power the car made...those are momentary spikes caused by upshifts, and irrelevant to continuous power output.)

Good numbers, I would still like to see a 5-speed 2.4 with this kit. But that is one damn impressive auto cobalt!

Good question. Let me try to reply in kind. You guys put down stock just a litle less then this kit does right? And some of you have taken stock SRT's right? Well if we're pushing about 10 to 20 hp more then an SS/SC and it can beat an SRT4 then it sould stand to reason we should be able to as well. As for killing SS/SC's not unless they're bone stock then maybe, but even with a stage 2 which puts you at about 5 to 15 hp more then us we have the advantage of an automatic! No clutch to worry about, no miss shifts to worry about. Don't forget every time you push the clutch your car stops pulling and our autos shift faster then a manual can.

No hate here intened at all so please do not think that.
