Hahn Racecraft Cobalt SS 2.4 Turbo Prototype!

2. Typically, our Staged Upgrades are rather affordable, since the basis of the higher power levels is already built into the turbosystem. So, you can start at any point, then work your way up the ladder, just adding more parts, as opposed to replacing parts you've already purchased.[/QUOTE]
Can you give me a roundabout idea of what an upgrade between stages might cost?.....over 2k or no....i hope not.....

its probably more expensive to build up to a certain stage rather then straight up buying the desire stage itself, but at least you wont have to throw down so much money at one given time... by slowly building you'll be able to slowly upgrade your car at your own pace

oh, no it definitely wont be mroe then 1500 (at most) - its hard to say though considering a stg 1 doesnt exists... but you'd probably need an intercoolers (250-300 dollars), maybe some intercooler piping (not expensive), new injectors, and one more thing that i cannot think of

if you are a student like me, i'd definitely go for the stg 1 as of now... the turbo kits arent gonna go anywhere so you dont have to rush to get a stg 2 if you cannot afford it... one way or another you'll havbe your turbo!

This is the reason I haven't bought a cobalt yet...I'd prefer to get a 2.4 auto and turbo it with a stage 2 but if Hahn is not going to make a sick turbo for the autos than count me in on a ss/sc with stage2 and hahn will miss out on yet more customers It is all what they see in demand though and are working with a very niche market so therefore it maynot be reasonable to make such a product if the only insite is coming from a website full of guys worried about price payments...meaning they most likely won't be turboing their 2.4's because in reality they can't afford it. That's a price I am willing to pay though for the ease of an auto with 240 whp in that light weight of a car even if I have to go in debt for it >

If you want to be economic about the kit...buy the stage 2 right away. If this means you ahve to save a little more, do it. I can almost guarantee the only way your going to get a payment plan is with your CC company or a loan through your bank. The stage one kit will only make you want to upgrade the kit. Then you'll regret not buying the stage 2 right away and being able to just up the boost a little for that extra kick when you need it.
Trust me...boost is ADDICTIVE. You get a little bit of it and then want more. Ask the kid who helped me get my car boosted to start out. The plan was to run out the year on no more than 10PSI and test the cars abilities there, as well as my own. By the end of the 3rd month I was racing 12-14PSI every time and Bill was helping me step the car up to the 40# injectors and 6:1FMU disk it has now so I could run that PSI level without risking the lean conditions the 32# might have risked. By the end of the year the car had seen 16 and even 17PSI runs.
I told myself that I didn't want to go past a point....but the need to go faster and feel the power got the best of me. It always does with boost.

I've got an auto (still looking for a stick) and I'm saving cash for stg2. I've got about 1/3rd of the cash needed on total reserve for a hahn kit. My purchase for the (possible) auto kit will be contingent on whether or not hahn thinks they will offer stg upgrades for an auto kit. I know all about the limitations of the auto trans thats another story. Suppose I should continue looking for that stick shift.

I had 12 requests from people to sell the Patriot Stage 2 heads in a GP on another site. I got 200 knocked off the regular price if I sold just 5 and $350 if I sold 10 at once. I sold a whole 1 head. 1 head out of 12 people begging me for a GP...not worth it.

its not as if i wouldnt buy the turbo... its just that i need the turbo before i leave my state... therefore, with a stg 1, i'd definitely be able to purchase a turbo... i dont know how long it'd be to save up for the stg 2, most likely not quick enough to fit my time schedule

Hey Bill i have another question for you....doubtful.....but does the kit come with a boost gauge or is that something we have to pick up.....?
......and to the turbo lag/rpm pickup comments......the way i see it our car lags from idle to 2500-3000 rpms and from 5500-6000 rpms...or so i have felt it to be that way....now we do have turbo lag sure...dont know how quick this thing spools up.....but for cruising if its set to fully kick in after lets say 2500-3000 and you all drive reasonably....i can do 55-60mph@2200 rpm's...then i dont see why you are all saying that it will spool up to fast and reach full boost potential to quickly.....just let up and shift right before 3k and youl be alright....

So is it fact that a stage 2 kit will be available for the autos or is it just speculation at this point? That's all I want to know...I am dying to order my cobalt and this is the defining factor of which cobalt I buy and I am sure it is true to a few others in this mighty large world. But also as a designer I know that you can't develop a product based single handedly on the souls of a website forum. Like it was stated before, people say they will buy and then they don't. Also as I stated that supports this is that people are talking about payment options...there is only one way that I have ever seen power sold...and that is upfront!!! If people are talking about trying to "invest" in a turbo and not "buy" a turbo than most likely they can't afford it but would atleast like the option to be there.

customss - not everyone is wealthy enough to afford a stg2
a stg1 i can afford for sure, however a stg 2 would need a payment plan (for me at least)
and not to flame, but you dont even have your cobalt yet so in regards to that, i dont think you are entitled to an opinion lol
