I have searched high and low and also red the GM sport compact build book cover to cover and I can't find this little tidbit. Does the LE5 come factory with the hardened oil pump gears or not? Theres a few of us in the J-body community whom would like to know because we have or are planning on running an LE5 bottom end with a L61 head since its a cheap way to have an engine that will support 400 horse. BUT we want to know if the hardened oil pump gears are factory or not since some of us would like to run 2-steps.

 

No.....check on allecotec.com website. They have them, that's where I got mine....400.00

get the stockers cryo treated and shot peened. should be sufficent.

They should work if the crank is the same size and the keyway is the same
