i want some more noise on my car but i dont want that fart can bull crap, and i dont want to spend 700 dollars on a decent catback. Do the flowmaster mufflers sound good? i figured that what were even supposed to have b/c a cobalt is a american car and chevy made muscle cars(and yes i kno our car is not a muscle car) but i think think the flowmaster would sound sick

I have a 2.2 with a flowmaster. 40 series if I remember correctly

Just a sec and I will find my Youtube vid

Here ya go, see what you think.

This is with the LSJ manifold and DP with a gutted cat, still the smaller diameter pipe cat-back to the muffler, and a resonated 4 inch stainless steel tip

No, sadly.... I really am unhappy now-a-days with the sound of the Cobalt..... But the Stang sounds GREAT. Both have flowmaster.

My first post was updated with the vid link to the Cobalt

It's a 4 cylinder mayn, so it will only get so good.. My setup is ca header, stock dp, dc sport catback, with stage one comp cams and it sounds great. Dam near like a v6 on normal acceleration.

Chambered mufflers will always have a rasp to them which is even worse on a 4 cylinder.

yes i have a catless set up and i deleted the resonator and have the flowmaster 40 series and i hate it. i need a different muffler. it still hasn't broken in so i'm waiting a little while longer but i don't think it'll get any better.

i recommend a different muffler. although it did sound really good whenever i had the stock exhaust manifold and downpipe on there. but when i went with the ZZP midlength combo it went horrible. it's loud as **** but not good sound

with a header? though the resonator is helping yours out. Whenever its raspy a resonator will 99% of the time help smooth the tone out.

a turbo also helps smooth out and quiet down exhaust usually as well
