header

2.4 07 g5 gt automatic

I got my supercharger kit. Im waiting to put it on till I get more parts.

After a lil research it looks like badmab or zzp header are on the tops of lists.

My question is which is the better install and quality. I kno some headers are made better and the install is smoother. I just did headers in a new camaro ss and it was a breeze ! Which prompted my post.

And which d/p. I didn't research them much.

Don't forget I'm going supercharged so whatever size you recommend for that.

I went 3in all the way through. ZZP longtube headers and zzp downpipe. I say ZZP > bad-mab cause bad - mab is a shorty header which focuses on low end and if u are modding a sc u will have enough low end and u can focus better on mid or higher rpms. I would of prefered mid length header....but i went Longtube as it worked on the higher end which are cars fall flat on the higher rpms and this helps alot... that is what i think and its just my opinion.

I like the way that sounds. How was installation of the long tube and d/p?

I like my set-up but I also had the re-surface my header flange, which if I didn't have access to a mill would have been a bitch. So I'm sure ZZP's quality would be better, better fit+finish but that is excepted with the higher price. Whatever you decide get 3 inch, being SC you will benefit from this.

I agree get the long tube header combo. I love mine except I also agree it is quite loud but not a ricey loud so I tolerate it. The long tubes are designed to optimize a supercharged setup and I think they do that job well. Plus they are 304 stainless so they will never rust and never need replaced. Install is easy after you figure out how to maneuver the header down through the tiny space between the engine and firewall, just takes so twisting and patience.

just my opinion and it has been stated here in different threads that sc dosen't need 3 inch unless you have like a tvs or mp90. so its not gonna do anything but make it louder

actually u are wrong on that... The header and DP u do benefit from it being 3in. the exhaust is what you wont need to change... cause its already 2.5 all the ss/sc that i know have gone to a 3in dp...

Either way if you do a full exhaust 2.5 or 3" its gonna be loud and resonate in the cabin. Do 2.5 or 3" cat back with a chambered muffler, which I think ZZP now sells. You are going to hate yourself(and so is your girlfriend) if you do a straight through muffler. I have the ZZP 2.5 cat back(magnaflow muffler) with badmab and 3" catless ZZP downpipe and it was loud as hell. I had a 2.5" adapter welded on to the stock muffler last week and is way better with little resonating.

I'm running a zzp shorty header, cti 3" to 2.5" catted downpipe and the slp loudmouth catback. And let me tell you its ungodly loud and raspy above 3k rpms. It runs very nicely and pulls nicely as well though. But id suggest zzps catback as well if your going Sc. From what ive heard its supposedo be one of the quieter ones out there.

You don't need 3 inch being NA. You will only loose torque and not gain any power with a 3 inch downpipe.
