Help!!! trouble

so i installed my header... went smoothly no issues... i start it up and its pissing antifreeze from under the car................. why could this be happening


any help would be greatly appreciated

there is the coolant line in the back of the motor under the header. did you do something to it?

see where the words are? thats the collant line im talking about

thank you for that pic... its so late i gave up my dad and i are going to look in the morning ill let you know... i appreciate the help man!!


any other suggestions it is leaking from under the header so it could be that

is there any way i could have cracked the head?? i doubt it but id be fucked if i did idk why coolant would be running out

i dont really see how you could have messed up the coolant line. but its a start to look at man

Just lift the car up and check where the coolant is leaking from, and go from there.

its harder than it sounds theres a shield on the bottom of the header that has one bolt thats very hard to get out because of the shifter linkage....... the header is like stuck on so when i get it off it will be clear if i gouged a hole in that coolant line... the new header is very close to it so idk

I had the same problem with my CA header, I just popped out the little tab, gave the coolant line a little twist so it would clear the header and put some high temp silicone around the back side of the coolant line and good to go.

that shield is a bitch to get off, but once you get it off it will make diagnosing this problem much easier. i just bent those two cables carefully out of the way to take out that 10mm bolt

i doubt it. what did you torque the nuts to? they should be to about 10 ft/lbs which is not that tight. My guess is like others said you hit the pipe running from the water pump and knocked something loose.

He didn't knock anything loose, the header puts pressure on the pipe and opens the seal a little bit causing it to leak.

so if i start the car and theres no coolant in the water pump.. is this bad will i wear the bearings out by the time the new coolant from the overflow works its way to it???

Yes, but there's a tab that holds it from twisting, just bend that straight and your good, you will see it.

theres a small noise like a swquikey sound coming from around the belt area maybe water pump.. the car is not over temp .... any ideas what this coould be from.. i didnt install that shield under the header but i dont think thats the issue

Loose belt, like the belt tensioner.

Should be some How To's in the LSJ section maybe about how to swap pulleys out. Or take it to a shop and they should tell you what's up and maybe charge you $20 to fix it.
