HIDs stopped working

HIDs stopped working
Okay I just got a set of used DDM tuning HIDs a couple days ago, and today they stopped working. They turned on when I left my house, but when I started it up to go home, they didn't. They came back on for a few minutes while driving, but then turned back off and I haven't been able to get them working since.
My garage is dark so they always came on regardless of how bright it was outside. Plus all the gauge/radio/hvac lights came on so I know it's not the photo sensor. I'm thinking it might be the ballasts because they use to hum but now they don't. I have a harness and I checked the polarity. It might be the relay, but I think its getting power to the ballasts because I hear a loud click whenever I switch from high to low beams, as they did while they were working.
I have my old halogens I can put back in until I can get it resolved. Has anyone been in this fix before? Do you agree that one if not both of the ballasts are bad? Could it be the relay?

same thing happened to me. they came on whenever they felt like it, sometimes one, sometimes both, but most of the time neither worked. I said **** it and put my stock bulbs back in, because from what I can see ground was good, power was hooked up, but they just did this randomly (when the cold started) had the same setup for like 6 months.

I checked and rechecked the wiring, and it seemed to be alright. I'll try the fuses tomorrow and if they don't work I'll try ddm monday and see if I can buy a couple replacement ballasts. If and when I get them working, I'll never use the driving lights again.

OK I just did some more research about using the driving lights and they say that using them can burn out the ballasts That's probably what happened to me. The weather's been kinda gloomy since I put them in so they would come on and off sporadically throughout the day. That probably did mine in. I think the best thing to do at this point is to get a couple replacement ballasts. Just wish I knew that before I put them in.

Everybody has opinions!
If every kit they sold sucked, they wouldn't still be in business!
Nac, we've gone back and forth before, this isn't about that. You making that post IMO is what would start said "pissing contest" lol.
Hope the OP gets it worked out.

I put them where they suggested, under the headlight bracket. It didn't rain since I put them in, so they didn't get wet. I'm calling DDM today to see if they can hook me up with a new relay. It seems kinda flukey that both ballasts would blow at the exact same time.

my ddms are still going strong. No fuse upgrade no wiring harness
twin 6k hid's one for the driving lights and one for the low beams.
Though I do plan on upgrading to a higher quality setup (probably prolumen or phillips) But I will pass the ddms down to a friend.
