Yup its like a hesitation more than a slip...I dont have a video of it actually doing it. I have a video of recording my boost gauge because my car was making more boost than normal and from there you can see/hear the hesitation. let me post it up and hope you can see what im talking about

It's hard to tell if you're just roasting tires or if you are actually slipping. I see and hear the hesitation but it is hard to say man. I can do the exact same in first or second but its because I'm roasting the gear and traction control is messing with everything.

hmmm never thought about that...could be that but idk...

actually i dont think so cuz if i do it to give it enough throttle to make me go faster but not enough to roast the tires it still sorta does it just not as violent

Its because you were already rolling in 2nd or 3rd and then hit it for the downshift. Mine does that too. You probably tapped rev limiter.

Sometimes when I do that i get a good 5 hard hits of limiter before it goes to 2nd gear. Other times it will shift HARD and go to 2nd instantly.

I was going like 20 mph when i started...that was the highest speed i had gotten to before i floored it. It does it when i go from a dig too.

Does the car stick or spin through first?

I think mine hits the rev limiter like you said but it's not from downshifting. gonna check later after class.

how'd you break the intercooler

I'm pretty sure it was hitting the rev limiter now. You guys said it shifts faster when its on L and today i did a mini pull on the way home and it didnt hesitate at all when shifting..

You can downshift from D to I going as fast as you want, but
it won't downshift until certain parameters are met in the TCM.
L & I increase line pressure a bit, shift feels firmer, and runs to redline.
Leave it in L it will shift at redline into second, if you leave it in L and don't move selector to I you will hit the rev limiter.
If you move selector to I after it shifts into second it will shift at redline into third and never shift to fourth until selector is in D.

It will also downshift much harsher when in L & I.

I noticed that downshift lol but having my car in L and doing a pull doing make my car hesitate from 1-2 like it showed in the video

that is so weird, i have never seen I lol. but yea it would make sense for it to go better if u start in I cuz you dont have the wait for it to downshift automatically.

Im going to try to look in HP tuners to see if i can run L to redline.
