Im going to be looking into getting a custom cat back sometime this winter. i cant justify spending 400+ on some metal tubing. Im probably going to go 2.5". how much did you guys pay for the tubing, res, muffler, and welding and labor? just trying to get some prices so i will know what to expect and not get ripped off!

for a reasonable muffler go with a dynomax or cherry bomb and the piping will cost including install depending where you go 90 dollars.which is the price I paid for the piping and install.

I paid 45 for a hi-flow resonator, 45 for a Stainless hi-flow muffler.. 100 bucks for my local mechanic to bend and weld everything up..he supplied the 2.5 inch exhaust pipe also.. So for 200 bucks I got a good custom cat-back..

 

no i dont have any sound clips, i dont have a way to get them and post them. but it is loud lol but its not the high pitched ricey loud. its actually kinda deep raspy and gurgles and pops when ya downshift reminds me of srt, even though thats a distinct sounds just reminds me of it. i love it lol

 

ya i def dont want anything that will sound like rice...just a nice low tone! my mechanic's nephew does custom exhaust so ill prob go talk to him sometime next week to see what he can do and some prices.

red2006SS, you go to any meets in lancaster?

 

no if youd here mine its not ricey, its just sounds aggressive thats all lol. its has a nice deep sound to it. but its a loud deep if that makes sense.
i havent been to any meets this year yet i dont believe, but year before was at like 6 total i think we had like 2-3 longs park meets, i think 2 york meets, a harrisburg meet and i also attended the frederick md meet in the cold and snow lol

 

ha well ill have to check it out sometime! i don't get to too many meets, i work 2nd shift. i was out at the sonic last night on 30 across from tanger. sooo many handa's! but there was a turbo cobra, and a total of 2 cobalts...me and my buddy that came down from reading with his ss/sc. they meet out there every thursday night.

 

yea i work second to so it sucks, and every other weekend i have my daughter to myself cuz of her mom working so i havent had alot of time to make it out to many get togethers. where abouts of lancaster you at anyway?

I paid about $150 for my set up, 2.5 inch pipings over the rear crossmember and a magnaflow muffler and reused the stock tip. I have sound clips of it posted around the 2.4 section.

Yeah that's how mine is too. I get the "your car sounds like an SRT-4" comment all the time. I love the burble burble pop pop slightly raspy hella loud sound, lol.
