How much faster IS a S/C'd 2.4 to stock?

I have tracked down a complete "kit" from a wrecked LSJ for $600.

so three things...

1) Would you guys buy it at that price? is that considered a good price?

2) would I be in for a lifetime of C.E.L's and frustrations? and how hard is this really to do? on a scale from 1->10 (10 being clutch job difficulty)

3) my car is fully bolted and tuned, how much faster would it be with the M62?(stock pulley) obviously nobody can say an exact number, but would it be like

"oh.. yeah I feel a bit more kick"

or

" Holy #!@$$@%#%@ "

I just want to be sure, because aside from the $600, I'd also need a tune ($250-300ish) a wideband ($100ish) and random bolts (probably add to around $80 or so)

so after everything It'll probably close to a grand, is it really worth it? like is the power bump THAT substantial? or is it just a little more kick?

Eh if your used to an N/A 2.4l you will be really impressed...so closer to Holy #!@$$@%#%@. Night and day difference. A 3.4" pulley not so much, but if you do a 3.1" you'll love the m62. You should be able to get 60-80whp pretty easily.

Its worth it, but that depends on what is included in the "kit". If it really is everything and all parts are in good shape, then for sure.

Also if you get a solid tune and don't tinker around with **** and buy more mods every other day you will have a fun reliable car. Your car will be much faster than most m62 LSJs if that helps. Not trying to start a pissing match with that comment, but I rolled a stock LSJ a few times in my hhr when I had a 3.1" and exhaust and pulled away handily each time. Your Balt is a few hundred lbs lighter than HHR too. The other driver was very impressed.

Hopefully everything lines up and you can go SC!

You will notice it, at least I did, but I went right to a 2.8" with just about every cooling mod.
I pretty much did my entire swap in a day. spread it out over a week (at work in my bay ftw) and took my sweet time with it and made it as clean of an install as I could.

There is always the possibility of running into issues when modifying a vehicle, you may screw something up and not set any codes. It all depends on how you go about doing your swap and your parts.

600$ aint too bad. Id try to get it for a little cheaper if the owner will budge.

Your tuned without a wideband?

If your tuned already, you shouldnt have to spend 300$ for a retune...

If you want the " Holy #!@$$@%#%@ "
go to TVS.
definitely worth it.
I still daily mine but the drive-ability is going out the window fast, but I still love my little shitbox

I had full bolt ons on my 2.2 and it was a HUGE difference. Easily gain a full second in the 1/4. I gained 13-14 mph too.

$600 is worth it.

I installed over a weekend
