How much HP for Fully bolted N/A ?
#76
The correct answer to the question is about 212hp. IMO the most hp you can possibly hope to ever make with a fully bolted and aggressively tuned LE5 is 212. Beyond that youre gonna need internal work or serious custom fabbed parts.

thats an unusually specific number there maven...

I see according to this thread "Official Dyno Numbers" that I am still in at number 2 after two years of doing nothing to my car as well as Mike (REDFOCZ) who no longer has his. So the number would be 186whp or mine at 181whp.
That is with full bolt on's only, NO cams or head work.

Wow, we finally agree. Another typo though. "The 2.0 is considered the superior car because it has more torgue, but the fact that car has more horsepower isnt gonna make the car top out at any speed higher than a 2.4." The word "horsepower" in the previous sentence was supposed to be "torque". Damn, up too late at night. I realize sustained torgue begins at the crank, I used "drivetrain" collectively, my opinion being the crankshaft is considered part of the drivetrain. Some don't, I do.

Are you serious? It didnt seem like that to me.
"When changing gears, you sacrifice speed for torque, or vice versa."
You actually added information, not a disagreement.
"Thats also horsepower... theyre effectively the same, being one is a derivative of the other."
This too is more added information. Maybe this is where you thought we disagreed. Yes they
are derivative of each other. NO, they are NOT effectively the same. That is an opinion.
You may think they are effectively the same, I disagree. But we could both be right. Oh by the way,
I'm going to check out your pics. Wanna see if you have the strut bar still.
hmmm, no pics. its cool. how much was the strut bar 9dc sport)?

damnit. sorry for the doubleposts

they are the same because you cannot take just a cars HP number or a cars TQ number. it depends completely on the RPM. a car that makes more torque than horsepower is effectively just saying its HP curve is flatter than if it werent. You say "thats torque" as if you are explaining the difference between torque and horsepower, when they are effectively both just ratings of how fast the car will go. one is just the other times the current RPM.
You also said top speed remains the same...i corrected you and said top speed lowers
The "thats EXACTLY what it means" comment should be self explanatory
and powertrain =/= drivetrain the drivetrain is part of the powertrain, but not necessarily the other way around
and it was sold a while back. lemme update my thread

ok i'm doing full bolt ons now and gonna get it tuned and dynoed and finally put this to rest mods i have K&N intake, i have a magnaflow catback, just bought a cti header and dp, i have an lsj throttle body gonna buy the adapter plate next pay day maybe sooner then save up for a tune unless someone around oklahoma will give me one for cheap, then get track times and dyno numbers, i plan on doing head work cams later on i plan on having a 250 whp na cobalt ohh yea its an 07 auto

from what ive felt with my car I believe a high 14 is possible for a full bolt on 2.4 auto. Red07SSNA got a 14.5 ouy of his 5 spd. typical rule of thumb is autos are a half second slower. So it seems possible but not easy.
#91
a set of DRs, a couple bolt ons, and a great driver can get 14's with a 2.4. Its getting into the low 14's thats a real challenge

taht would be traction, not torque
#97
If that video is of 07RedSSNA then there is hope for me because he was an auto I just searched his threads and he was the one that found out that the lsj down pipe needs modification to fit on an auto 2.2l or 2.4l awesome

It was just RedSSna
