Sorry, thats being butt hurt over a comment that was listing technical information and not an attack on you. In fact, if you had bothered to read my post the whole way through it went on to counter a few other myths and misconceptions stated in this thread.

If you want to give advice fine, but if someone calls you on saying something that is false then don't get snappish and start claiming things. Kinda makes you the pompous (not pompus) *******.
great post. and repped for serving our country.

put what the manual suggests ... end of story ... why is that so hard to understand? put in 89 AT LEAST..... trust me for the extra 10c or so you'll spend on gas per gallon... don't be a cheap ass..... you're car will love you for it...

ZOMG STOP ******* FIGHTING>>>> this board is becoming a waste of space with the **** thats going on lately.. either post useful info.. or take it to f'in pms.. i'm pretty sure the OP got his answer... mods really REALLY need to get on top of locking threads when they get out of hand... seriously... every thread i see anymore turns into a bitch fest....

i usually just put 87 in my 2.4... but if i get alot more power i might just go the extra 20c a gallon for the highest octane

Read your manual. Quit putting crap gas in your car, or go buy an LS.

And btw, you always gain HP from using higher octane.. you just dont gain much.

Alright, I know I over reacted when he over reacted. I'm on a very short fuse right now with all the crap I'm dealing with out here in the sand box. Can we end this now and get back to answering questions please? I'll even admit that I'm sorry for letting my short fuse go off.

... wtf... my point exactly.. again I wasn't talking about people with 100+ posts I mean the people who had like 10 posts and then got into arguments in every thread they were in and are now up at 200+ posts...

post count doesn't matter.. but when you get into a bitch fest for every thread... there's no reason to be posting...

Salesmen will tell you anything.

telling you its fine with 87 translates to "oh ****, dont wanna tell him it needs premium fuel....that will be a bad point in his mind, and might make him think of not buying the car"

sure it will run on 87 octane.
It will run if I **** in the gas tank too.

I made sure the guy who went pick up my car put 91 in it for the drive, then they put 91 in it again to top it off for me when I picked it up. No control of what the guys at the place they got it did, but pretty sure they were putting 91 as well.

I was more pissed at myself for writing it wrong. I dont like to be wrong... Especially when I know what i'm talking about and the words dont quite come out right. I'm not offended and my bad for the gloating or whatever it's called. (tooting my own horn) Apologies to all.
