Sorry, thats being butt hurt over a comment that was listing technical information and not an attack on you. In fact, if you had bothered to read my post the whole way through it went on to counter a few other myths and misconceptions stated in this thread.

If you want to give advice fine, but if someone calls you on saying something that is false then don't get snappish and start claiming things. Kinda makes you the pompous (not pompus) *******.

put what the manual suggests ... end of story ... why is that so hard to understand? put in 89 AT LEAST..... trust me for the extra 10c or so you'll spend on gas per gallon... don't be a cheap ass..... you're car will love you for it...

thanks man, but i got everything figured out a while ago...

for anyone that doesnt know.. 91 or higher for the SS's.

my dealership said "87 should be fine but 89 wouldn't hurt it" then i read the book and was like oh well 89 or 91 ... well thats good to know

telling you its fine with 87 translates to "oh ****, dont wanna tell him it needs premium fuel....that will be a bad point in his mind, and might make him think of not buying the car"

sure it will run on 87 octane.
It will run if I **** in the gas tank too.

I made sure the guy who went pick up my car put 91 in it for the drive, then they put 91 in it again to top it off for me when I picked it up. No control of what the guys at the place they got it did, but pretty sure they were putting 91 as well.
