How to Remove your ECM (manual)

I saw a post in my Vector ECM tune thread about a removal install tip for the ECMs in our 2.4s. Mine is manual 2.4 SS so I will use my procedure for that. With some diagrams from Solsticeforums.com.

So here it goes:

1. First disconnect the battery in your trunk. Its easiest to unbolt the negative terminal and make sure you swing it clear of the positive terminal and let it hang free.
2. Our ECMs are located under the hood right near the washer fill and radiator overflow containers under a small black shield.
3. You'll need to remiove this shield by simply lifting straight up and it will pop off.
4. Next thing to do is to remove the harness plugs. The below diagrams show how to remove the plugs and plugs tabs .

Once these are free, the ECM lifts right out and is ready to send to Vector..!!!
