there are some guys runnin 2.0 injectors because of GM maxing out the stock injectors in the 2.4. i was at 98% IDC at like 6500rpm. alot of guys have a tune for it on there cars with really no upgraded PCM, which i really dont need. i shud have the injectors in soon, just need the plug n play harness.

You have been mislead by someone who either did not explain themselves, or is completely off the wall. Your stock PCM is fine, it just needs the new tune flashed to it.

Find someone you can exchange ideas with or learn from and go from there. There are a few books that will help. The first two are very good, the other two are additional information.

Haynes High-performance tuning - Engine Management - Walker (ISBN 1-85960-835-3)

HPBooks Auto Math Handbook - Lawlor (ISBN 1-55788-020-4)

If you want to learn more, come to the meet on the 7th in Frederick and I'll give you a run down.
Where in Frederick are you going to be? And if I come should I be equipped with HPT?

check this thread for info. You don't need to have HPTuners, but you would benefit if you did

One more question, this is still going to be my daily driver, and I have to take it to and from school (Frederick to VA Tech), if I get the 34# fuel injectors and the tune, how will it affect my gas mileage?

it will affect it, but not as much. ur daily driving should be fine. if u tune the injectors right, they really should only be maxing out when WOT. like with my tune rite now with HP tuners. its when im all WOT. so i still get my 32mpg...lol. i drive like a grandma to save some cash with gas. sometime i get on it..but not all the time. yeah but u shud b fine.

Same here, when I went to 42's my gas mileage went up, then when I went to 60's it went up again! Fricken wierd!

If that guy thinks they released a performance PCM for the 2.4L then he probably also thinks the world is Flat too. They have not done anything of the sort yet.

LOL! I thought that was a TYPO! You might need to change your shorts after the first couple hard runs with my tranny tune. I am also working on adding a little more to it also. It has been sweet, and no problems or CEL's with my tunes for 2.4L so far. I think they are running about 10k mile so far with that tune.

Doc, since I don't have the correct harness yet (and probally won't by the 27th), would it be wise to tune mine? I'm buying Dervin's SS/SC injectors when I come, but I probally won't be able to intall them and obtain the correct harness until a little bit later. I'm not really familiar with all that goes into tuning HP Tuners, but is it possible to give me a really mild tune on my stock injectors until later on when I install the SS/SC injectors, and then maybe next time we all meet up, tune it moreso when I have the bigger injectors in?

Alright, thanks man. I hope you can fit me into your schduel on the 27th, as I know your gonna be tuning your butt off. Even though the whole plan was originally me and Dervin's idea, I know some other guys are coming up, like CobaltBurst who has dyno time schdueled, which means he MUST be tuned in order to make good use of his money for dyno time. If you can squeeze the lone 2.4 in, that'd be awesome man. If not, the fact that its my day off and i'll be hanging out with a bunch of other SS owners is awesome within itself.

really? That'd be sweeeet. I'll pay you the difference of course. Is a parking lot install possible? I've never messed with injectors on any car before, i've just been a bolt-on wonderboy with my cars, as have my friends w/ theirs.
