Exclamation I need some help. DOWNPIPE WISE LOL

Well As some of you might now I am ownedbyagirl? Name is Tanya,

I am looking to get my exhaust done. But I have some what of an Idea.

Below is the how were going to do the Upgrades to the car.

First off Our future plans for our car are as follows,
1. Intake High flow tube / Drop in filter / Air box mod. DONE
2. Exhaust Header, Down pipe More info needed.
3. By the time summer comes we should have enough money saved for the car to get the Supercharger kit from ZZP. ZZPerformance - 2.2/2.4L Bolt on Supercharger Kit #

4. HPTune
5. B&M Shifter tranny tune.

My boyfriend has never done the whole exhaust thing before but he says he could install it. So he doesn't quite understand sizes ether.

Could we get the 3 inch DP with Exhaust while still being N/A ?
Or do we have to go 2.5 inch DP ?

What is the difference between a Mid lenght Down pipe and Long? Performance wise verse price?

We are not worried about sound as of yet.

Like I said above I need to know what is good for size wise. Could we go 3'' Header - DP and exhaust? Keep in mind we would be getting the super charger kit in about 8-10 months ?
Or is 2.5'' More than enough?

I have 2.5" exhaust right now. It will go a long way before you would have to upgrade to 3". People even install the S/C kit on their stock exhaust.

I have ZZP's midlength header/DP combo in 2.5". I might suggest 1.75" primaries instead of 1.5"

You also could get the 3" but you will lose some torque until the S/C goes on.

What is a WIDE BAND BUNG?

Also if I get the ZZPerformance - Mid Length Header & Downpipe Combo #
Would it bolt up to the stock exhaust? If I get the 2.5'' 1.75 prim

wideband bung is for an O2 sensor for a wideband gauge (monitors air/fuel mix). you can get that option but would have to get a plug for it if you dont get a gauge right away.

yes it bolts in to stock exhaust. i ran mine on stock exhaust for a while.

I hope these plans are orchestrated by you - and not your boyfriend;

when ever you modify a car you do take away a degree of reliability that it once had - the more you modify it, odds are you're opening up more potential for issues - especially if you don't do the work on your car.

that is all

I went to him to see if I could make my car faster. He told me the ideas, Supercharger, Intake, Header exhaust, Downpipe and tune.

I will be keeping up with maintenance.

So what your saying is... Get the Header and Downpipe 2.5'' and 1.75...... and attach it to the stock exhaust.

Then when I get the supercharger get an after market exhaust.

You sound get the 2.5 catted downpipe from zzp then get the badmab header. The 3in would be to big for our n/a car. That's what I hear.and u can also get the lsj throttle body for better throttle response.

What is in there right now? Is it long or mid length?

Would I notice an increase in power when I get this?

Is there any other restriction in my exhaust?

stock header and DP are super restrictive.

the catback will be the only restriction when you go S/C. Dont worry about it now.

Tune will also be the most beneficial.

get the cat. No cat will have a raspy sound to the exhaust.

Yes it bolts up to stock exhaust.

Don't waste your money on the B&M Shift+. If your planning on getting a tune, which you are then it is useless. I'm not sure how the B&M works but with a tune it's simple as increasing line pressure in the transmission to shift harder and faster. So having the B&M and a HPT/Trifecta tune is useless.

badmab is cheaper. Some have good luck with them some dont. IMO ZZP is more reputable.

If you can find someone with HP tuners in your area, thats the best way to go. HP tuners also does your transmission.

Im an auto also.

Yea I plan on going HPtune. But if we can't find a dealer near us then will have to deal with trifica tune By Jonathan. He lives like 5 mins away from me.

its my understanding that hptunes will be a more agressive tune than trifecta tho i believe trifecta would be better for a daily driver, i would imagine less potential for breaking ****.... i put a badmab header and zzp catted downpipe 2.5" and i noticed barely noticeable gains.... tho im pretty sure when i put the cti 2.5 over the axle and my dynamax muffler on i should see full bolt on potential until i get my tune in the spring.... from what i understand the stock muffler is very restrictive '08 le5

no real difference in aggression from HP to Trifecta..its all a matter of what you want.
