Installed Jet Stage 2 this morning. Thoughts

If you wanna go put a resistor in a box go ahead. but considering there are now more than a dozen members that have this and many more swearing by Jet from older cars maybe you should open your eyes.
If you dont like it, dont comment. but dont call it a resistor in a box until you have your proof it doesnt work.

Now come on guys fight nice. Now you both have good points but from what I can tell the Jet Chip most likely is not a resistor its probably a programmable IC of some sort. But on the other hand there are mods out there that use just resistors like the B&M Shiftplus for example.

lol i stand by previous statement that we never get the results.. i may have to buy this thing and dyno to give us some actual proof. i did a baseline and once i install my dp ill dyno again. i can get this, dyno and post up all 3 graphs

I spoke with Xtorted about the module. He never got dyno'ed because he continued having issues and when he contacted Jet, they asked him to send it back because he may have received a defective module. He should have a new one within a week or two.
Now before all you Jet Chip haters get your panties in a bunch.... every part for every car ever created has had the occasional defective piece. It happens. Obviously he has had a TON of contact with Jet and they seem to be treating him well. If nothing else, their customer service alone should tell you about their business.

Hey guys! I'm sorry, really didn't intend on letting you guys hang. Jet recieved my chip the 23rd. It's now the 26th so i'm calling them today to get my answers. Hopefully they'll send it back asap. And i am going to dyno - with out hesitation, don't worry. Again sorry and i haven't seen this thread populate at all so i didn't know it was still alive :-) I was at work when i got OrngBalts PM and replied to him I am going to call jet now and post what they say within the next hour.. Thanks guys
It's not ending, Just taking forever. You guys can rely on me!
Ok ok, I spoke with a rep. from Jet just 5 minutes ago. They recieved my chip on the 23rd, and sent it back on the 24th. I'd say pretty good turnaround if you ask me. He wasn't able to give me details on what was wrong with it - (If anything.. but thats hard to believe) But he said it would give me a detailed description on what was wrong, or what had happened. I checked DHL and i should have it back monday.. woot woot. And i've got alllllll next week off of work for some dyno time
Btw.. Original problems:
Steering felt jerky, and tugged
RPMs would flutter.. very rarely.
Stalled.. without warning!
Took chip out - reinstalled
Powersteering jerking
At a red light, RPMs would DROP speedometer would jump. 20mph, 30mph, 80mph Settle down to zero, rpms would settle.
So for the most part, I'm anxious to see what the results were on the chip.

I'm just as curious.. Luckily jet is a plug in and i was able to take it out to make my problems disapear as well. Depending on what i see on monday, it's going to pretty much make my mind on custom tuning (hp tuners) To Jets performance module. Local guy (New era) Told me he has seen 8-15 Hp gains on the 2.4's. while.. jet "CLAIMS" about 16hp to the wheels.. hmm thats why i'd like to find out asap.. and like i said, jets "tune" can be unplugged, unlike a custome tune.. Not bashing HPT at all, I'm going this route because HPT doesn't support my car so obvisouly i'm looking at a different route, and if it works out.. fannnttassssttiiccc. New era is one of the sponsors of this site as well, and he's a good guy with good people. So, i will be bringing it back to him for a dyno. Remeber.. last run it was 166 or 167 HP.. and like i said.. can't remember torque numbers.

good to hear ur sticking with it. So u got those whp numbers with the mods in sig? im hoping this works and becomes a reliable setup. i saw their performance module that u can change parameters on, and its only 20 bucks more.

Soo.. Took the ecm out put it on my bench, installed the jet chip, plugged in the two remaining harness' connected the battery took her for a test drive.. same **** w/ the new module. I've asked for my money back. Sorry guys but for me this chip just isn't working right now, they say they've got "**** loads" of 2008s using it and no problems.. well if ONE person has a problem they need to look through their **** and find out whats going on. Guess i'm just going to have to wait for hpt...

My 08' Only has two connectors and the chip goes into the top connector. All pins were fine as well, and when i took the chip back out it ran as nothing had happened
#42
Are the 2 connectors the same on the 08 -- both 73 pin? If so, we need to get a factory manual and find out what the connectors go to. If you are using the 10708S that fits the 07 2.4 it should be going to the same leads. Obviously the ECMs are not the same but they should be attaching to the same engine management connector.
Anybody out there with an 08 factory manual? Please look in the engine management section of the 2.4L engine in volume 2 and find out which connector on the ECM controls the fuel injectors, MAF, MAP, and spark -- THANKS!
#43
Yes sir! He told me it works for the 07-08. They told me twice it goes to the Black connector and wouldn't fit the gray one.. but with inspection of my eye they are exactly the same!
#44
Some FYI: On the 06 2.2 there are only 2 connectors and the bottom one (C2 / 73 pin) controls the engine! The top connector (C1)is only a 56 pin connector too.

E67 ECU connectors - Black, Grey, Blue....
I don't recommend just sticking it in the other connector until we can find out which connector is for the engine management. I have an 06 and an 07 factory manual but not an 08. My connectors are all the same color on my 07 2.4L -- black. I only discovered which connector it went to by using the service manual -- the install instructions were no help!
