Post Intake

Hi i am getting ready to purchase an intake. Unsure if i would like to get a CAI or SRI. I really like AEM. I have a 2.4. I have heard that the K & N is known to throw CEL codes?? Is this true? Does anyone know where to purchase a AEM CAI from... AEM is the intake with the dry filter correct?

Thanks
John

CAI, hands down, it'll pull cold air from outside the engine bay. and yes AEM has the dryflow filter.

I've had the K&N Typhoon for 8 months and I've never had a CEL. Unless you over oil the filter, you won't get a CEL.

<<<Don't forget the great-looking GMPP Intake!!!! It draws air in from the bottom -- the original air intake. It may look like it is designed to draw underhood air in but the seal on top seals it fairly well to the hood.

I've had my k/n typhoon intake for about 2 months and its awesome. The extra hp and throttle response is great not to mention the lovely growl you get when you slam the gas pedal down. Its definetly a top notch product you'll be very happy if you get it. I've also heard great things from several members about the AEM CAI. So either way you go you wont have no problems from either intake.

AEM is good from what I hear. They have the unique dry flow filter. I am in the market for intake too. I've just about made my decision and I'm going with the K&N intake.

I just put a AEM CAI in my Cobalt a couple of days ago. It sounds way better and I can tell it performs better. Worth the money.

The K&N SRI tube is powder coated metal and its diameter, length, curve, fittings are designed for sonic resonance of the intake tract which produces optimum HP. Part (most) of the cost is in engineering, design, and testing to get those ponies from a VVT engine.

It goes on easy and quickly.... everything fits. You get what you pay for in this case. Or you can throw your money at another product and take your chances.

The K&N isn't a plastic tube, it's aluminum. Plus it has the heat shield.

Does the K&N really give 15.94 hp. And the Injen 10-11 is. Y does a short ram airintake drwing warn air from under the hood pull more HP than a cold air intake?
