There's a saying in the car business " The test ride makes gross."

Meaning that unless you know what you're buying, how can you put a value on it?

You know I'm in for a group buy. Post up dyno numbers first so we can see exactly what we're buying and you'll get a lot more takers = lower price (hopefully.) Which would garner more takers, meaning an even lower price. Which would...

i just went into my garage and reground some 2.4 cams with a screw driver. they made 207fwhp and 193fwtq before a piston shot thru the hood of the car, out the window of my garage, and into the forehead of my 87 year old next door neighbor. 120 bucks. i'll beat any price jbp can throw down.

I almost believed that until you got to the "into the forehead of my 87 year old next door neighbor" part

The cams I made using a dremel have 12 inches of lift and 630 degrees of duration with 360 degrees of overlap. They won't idle below 10,000 RPM, and don't make more than 3 WHP below 25,000 RPM, but at 25,000 RPM they really come on and make 832 WHP until red line, which is at 25,012 RPM. They're a bit hard to manage on the street. I had to notch the bottom of the oil pan for the extreme lift or the valves hit. This let all the Mobile 1 out, which reduced crankshaft drag and increased power .01 WHP.

The valves are 1.60 inch intake and 2.02 exhaust, and I used 16 Koni front suspension springs for valve springs. The retainers are Unobtanium and have negative weight, so they actually reduce the overall valve-train mass. The 6 inch diameter exhaust goes silent above 22,000 RPM because the exhaust gas frequency exceeds the human ear frequency response (although the dogs in the neighborhood hate me). I had an 8 inch exhaust, but the loss of low end torque (around 17,000 RPM) was massive due to the big pipes.

that's why i injected the cams i made with liquid v-tec. they now have more intelligence than our president (a whopping 12 IQ).

Gah, dyno and sound/video clips!!! By the way, JBP are these cams capable of dealing with boost? I am considering an STS Remote Turbo System (aka a catback turbo system). Squires already did one for the 2.2L Cobalt and it looks hot.

ew. don't do it. they are decent systems for high displacement engines, but for small displacement, they lag too much, sit too low, and good luck if you get in a fender bender!

lets just say, it did not work out, the guy was a dick and fucked the hp tuners and wasted my time, Im rebooking for another place..stay tuned..did one pull untuned lets just leave it at that.. MUSTANG DYNO 155whp, if he could access the car hes says" there is another 35,40whp tuning in the car and cams"..the gm tune in my car is super secrewed right now! I was so pissed with the guys lack of effort I left the dyno sheet there, Rod(victory redss) showed up to try and help the guy.Lets just say he did not want the bussiness. You guys will have to wait for next week, but A safe bet on the cams is 25whp gain...sorry guys im a little let down by dealing with this shop

Sorry to hear man, that sucks. I'm sure you'll keep us all updated when you do get back on the dyno.
