man look those cams will wait, your friend needs you and thats more important then these cams.

Does the starter engage but the engine won't turn over? Did you double check the timing chain position? Can you turn the engine by hand at the crank pulley? Did you connect engine ground wire? Just some ideas....

Mike, yes, The cam gear to camshaft bolts are torque to yield. Good practice says to change them; but the clamping force required can be extended to another use if need be. I've done enough ECO camshaft swaps to come to this conclusion. Plus, the fact that the bolts are pretty expensive.

Does the 2.4 have a cam sensor like the 2.0L? If that is not timed (slot correctly aligned) the car will not start. I had to re-adjust mine as it was reinstalled by the machine shop at a different timing place. The car ran perfect after that.

I pulled apart a 2004 2.2 to take a look at the cams. The 2.2 cams in that 2004 did not have a hex or any other provision for a cam sensor. My 06 2.2 cams did not have any provisions for a cam sensor either. I'm only offering ideas.

The car is going in at noon tomorro,to the "cam guys" my bud droped the ball on me,otherwise I did to,its been one heck of a week,sorry to you Mev and all,gonna cost some bucks but otherwise it is gonna finally be done
