How would it gain you power? It's just a sensor.

Jet calls the factory MAF sensor "restrictive". i Don't even know how that would be possible seeing most maf sensors air flows in or around the sensor. I think it's just B/S personally.

I could see the stock mass air sensor disturbing the intake air flow a little bit........but not enough to cause a serious performance decrease.

now i have looked at our MAF sensor and its not bad at all. Now in my ranger i had that thing was a massive piece of metal taking up a lot of space. but unless Jet's MAF sensor is thinner you would be wasting your money.

would the Jet MAF have a different amount of resistants making the computer think that the outside air is colder than it actually is making the engine increase the timing the compensate for the colder air temperature, causes the computer to use a richer fuel table, changing the air fuel ratio and producing more power because the computer thinks the outside air is cooler than it actually is...

Just a thought???

.. wouldn't that just be a 2 dollar resistor then?

Probably!!!...lol.. but the Jet MAF is a retuned OEM MAF sensor.. Its calibrated to correspond with different air fuel ratios depending on how much throttle throughout the power range... I personally don't see them making a big difference.. I could be wrong.. I have seen them on the internet of around 140 bucks at autoanything.com so it maybe worth a try..
