Just got my tune...

I just got my car tuned yesterday, and the results seemed somewhat decent I suppose. Before the tune the car put down 153 whp and I forgot the torque number. That was with full bolt-ons (I/H/Dp/E) on a mustang dyno. I was surprised at first since it seemed kind of low, but the guys said that the mustang dyno puts down numbers that are approximately 15% lower than other dynos. After the tune the car put down 161.2 whp and something like 154 wtq. +8 whp didn't sound too bad, but he was telling me he would be able to get more out of it but my car was doing something strange. The AFRs were acting weird. At idle the car was running more rich, and as the engine pushed harder it started to go lean. I don't know much about this at all, but he said that's the opposite of what it should have been. No matter what changes he made, it just keep on doing the same thing. The charts after each pull all looked almost identical. AFR would start up higher and then drop. After 3 pulls like that we just stopped. Does anyone know what's up with that or is that normal for the LE5? Any of you guys who tune LE5's please help me out. I should be getting the charts emailed to me soon, and I will post up when I get them. Thanks in advance.

These cars run rich at idle, yes. My Dashhawk tells me that there's 30% load on them at idle, which seems pretty damn high.

I got it tuned by Brian Sailor, and we used the dyno at exatorq. I went to brian because vaughn had told me about him a while back.

Mine was running at 20%+ before the tune i think. He got it lower with some tweaking, but he said it still seemed high. Is it supposed to go lean from acceleration though?

I heard the stock ECM goes majorly lean at WOT......I would think they would be able to tune that out, but maybe it's harder than we think.

I suppose it is. He tried a couple times but still couldn't get it to change. He kept telling me that he knows more power could be squeezed out, but he couldn't figure out how to change it beyond that. I know there are some guys on here that have been able to get more than the +8 whp I got out of mine through tuning.

car really doesnt get lean up top..it gets rich and maxes out the stock injectors..this is why a good tune will produce some good hp.

Now I'm confused. Some of you are saying that the LE5 goes lean at WOT and then some of you are saying the opposite. All I know is the guy doing my tune couldn't get it to change beyond a certain point. And it was still going richer at idle and lean at WOT.

That's what the AFR was showing on the charts before and after the tune. It was richer at idle and get's leaner as I went WOT.
