Just ordered my Headers!!
I order my CA stainless steel headers a couple days ago and im so excited for them. But heres the question...as far as downpipes are concerned, which do i get? I was thinking about getting the DownPIPE without cat converter (2.5") from cobalt-addiction.com but i really dont know which is best. Also does anyone have a quote for what an average installation costs for headers and downpipes are? Someone told me $200 but that seems high...maybe its just me.

install yourself, it's really not hard at all. if you don't feel confidant, have a local member show you how to do it. it's really as easy as unscrewing a few bolts, and then tightening a few bolts.
if you were local, i would help and wouldn't charge anything. maybe you could bring lunch or some beer

^^^What D4 said. I regret not doing my header by myself. I let a shop do it because I wanted it on before a dyno day that was fast approaching. In hindsight, I probably could have done just as good a job if not better, since I had a leak after they installed it.

having never installed one, or taken one off, i did it myself with the "help" of my little brother. if he wasn't "helping" probably would have taken about 2-3 hours. didn't run into any problems. if there's a leak, just tighten up the bolts, it's really that simple. all you need is a jack, and basic handtools.

Don't forget jackstands.

downpipe takes about 20 minutes max from UNDER the car. first time i did mine when i had the 2.2, i tried getting the bolts from the engine bay. was an absolute BITCH. when i recently did my zzp header/dp combo, i got the downpipe off in literally 5 minutes from underneath with a breaker bar.

bro serisouly get the header and downpipe and install them at the same time...trust me! rusted bolts are not fun to deal with...u ever get a new maf for ur car too? personally the 2.8 collector is a lil to big for our car thats y i have the older vs.
go with the 2.5 w/ cat from kenny..good downpipe.
