The LE5 uses forged rods like the LNF and LSJ engines. The pistons are probably the next weakest link in that engine. I could safely estimate that 350 number as well on a constant basis. You can get over 400 if you have a nice tune and don't burn the pistons. The Hahn numbers are solid. They were actually trying to break the engine to see how far their turbo kit could go and were not able to break anything.

170ft lbs is the factory rated specs for the 5 speed, but as someone has said, theres a few guys running well above that limit without problems

The Hahn Racecraft Sunfire drag car uses an F23 trans. It's making over 500 HP.

SEARCH i have posted this info many times as well as elecblue.....trust me the engine will handle approaching the lines of 350-400 before it goes...some say it isnt but its designed for power...after all it was designed in light of the older saab turbo motors

I hear the weakest part of the manual transmission is the clutch.. replace that and you help your transmission problems by quite a bit.. its just what I hear though, I have no real proof to support that.

thats a proven fact with any transmission and the addition of power past its original intent

People need to stop pulling the transmission card every three seconds around here.

The F23 is more than capable of handling over 400whp, people with cavis have done it.

isnt the rating gm gives what the clutch is rated for? not the tranny itself?
