looking for ZZP 2.4 turbo guys out there?

im looking for a little input on some stuff with the ZZP 2.4 turbo system, i have had mine for 2 years now and when i think i have it right a new proble comes up so i want to see if anyone has had problems with there kit from zzp, right now i keep getting misfires close to redline and i have replace my spark plugs but maybe i didnt put good ones in that can handle 14psi of boost and from time to time when i get on it the car will go into POWER REDUCE MODE, ENGINE DISABLE and if i dont have the lap top hooked up to it i have to stop and turn the key off so it will resets. what is the best way to tune the 2.4 with turbo? MAF only or VE with MAF can anyone help me with this at all?

Had stage 3 with S252 @ 8 psi (kit is 11, however i'm paranoid about longevity) on for about a month now, so i cant comment on long term problems.

I was advised by my installer to not use the sparks in the kit, being in a colder climate with crapier gas (91), as well with his experience in building ecotecs, using NGK with .35 gap (if that helps)

Autolite - Autolite XP Iridium for LNF/LE5 #AL-XP5263

someone also gave a bad review

As far as tuning goes, mine was again done locally by my installer. To match our air/gas (i also wanted a moderate/mild tune) If you like, i can relay to him specific technical questions that you may have, he used HPtuners

When i first had mine installed the installer put some shorter spark plugs in...misfired...a lot. never had an issue with it since then and that was over a year ago. i just get a check engine light for voltage drop on start up.

are the plugs gaped to a smaller gap than stock.
High end missfires I had before regaping plugs down to .033" fixed that.

Mines been on for over two years and only had exhaust mani problems !

I'm gapped at .35ish on the plugs they provide. Considering ditching them for NGK's or something. I've had a wacky misfire since the finish of the build back in april. Although I can't really say I've shared big issues like the OP is having

I just had mine installed this past week and I have to upgrade my stock clutch to handle the stage 2 kit and my MAP sensor keeps popping out every time I hit the gas. Other then that, I haven't had any problems with the kit itself. I'm hoping everything runs smoother with a new clutch kit and the MAP sensor staying in place.

Any recommendations on clutch kits?

With the stage 3 turbo (s252) i got a bully stage 4 clutch. rated to 400 ft lbs for the future. Driveability wasn't affected at all. Except i find the clutch grabs quicker

From what I've been researching, I'm either going to go with KY Stage 3, Exedy Stage 2, or the ZZP clutch kit. Not sure yet though.

i have replace the spark plugs with the stock LNF because guys are saying there just as good, i got the cooler running ones off zzp then seen a bad review on them so i didnt go back to them. i was thinking it might have to be with the tune because when we had it on the dyno it was doing fine then we turned the boost up from 8 to 12psi then it wanted to start misfiring up at redline on cylinder 3-4 the most, i have tried to contact zzp but they have not got back to me because i think there site got hacked. i have no cat in it so its not from a back up in the system im just hoping its not a head gasket or something i dont think it would be because it run good. as for a clutch i went Spec stage3+ and its ok never slips so it must be working

As far as boost goes I have my knob turned all the way down pushing around 8 psi without a problem. I've had it for a week so far and I've only had it up to 90mph. Other then the clutch issue it's running fine. I do have some exhaust rattle now and the MAP sensor still pops out but it's running fine. I think it might be your tune.

I'm probably going to go with a KY stage 3 clutch.

i was worried that my MAP was going to pop out to so i put some RTV sealent on the rubber thing thats on the MAP and has never come out, the manifold has tabs on it to keep the sensor from coming out but they clearly dont work lol

"YOU REPLACED PLUGS TO STOCK LNF"
Ok, but have they been regaped ?

I had some misfires (actually a bunch on #3), the cure then was injector and injector cup o-rings.
Can't remember but something like thirty bucks.

I never had the map pop out. Even at 14psi lol. Its pretty snug so idk how it keeps happening to you. Maybe the rubber seal is worn?

I think I'm going to end up making a bracket to keep it in place. I think that's what causes my first gear misfire at like 6k rpm's.

i have run mine 13psi no problem. of course this was only during tunning times only.

the map sensor problem i have it too. the map sensor that came with the kit (stock lsj i think) does not have a clip to hold itself.
my tuner just wedge a triangle piece of metal in the plastic that was suppose to hold the clip and its been holding.

The sensor that we get for the kit is shorter so that's a bit of a problem I think but mine doesn't come out but I think I might know what my misfire is from, my injector tables are wrong I think and my tuner says we are maxing out my tables
