It seems that I used to drive at 1500 rpms when I was drivin econmically but now it seems it stays around 2000 and I haven't been givin it gas to hear it...even though I want to lol. I try to reason in my head..
20 seconds of intake sucking < $5 in gas
haha

a CAI would increase your MPG..not decrease.
Virtually every "bolt on" (including turbo/supercharger) would increase your MPG...
However, with more power, it takes less to get up to speed...so if your still driving it the exact same way as before, your adding more load, and will result in a loss of MPG.
And WTF do you mean you bought an intake and you havnt gotten on it to hear it? What the hell is wrong with you?
That should of been the very first thing you do when installing a performance mod...is to get on it.
Hell, the shop told me not to get on my car after i got the kit installed until they can check some things out...
I turned out of the driveway and floored it.

So just let me know if this is weird, I've been watching the gas gauge and it seems that when I drive it stays at about 2k rpms. Before, doing the same kind of driving, it would be around 1.5k rpms. Before when I got to a stable mileage and stayed there it would drop to 1.5k but it now looks like it's always at 2k or a little over. Could there be something wrong with the intake, or throttle body?

turbo's yes, they do increase mpg.... but however, superchargers do not... that is why GM stoped making the SS/SC because of the federal governments new 30mpg rule for all 4cyl cars.... SS/SC was only getting 25mpg as per EPA specs
