Most HP for my limit

Hey guys im new here, and I have been looking around but havnt really found the answers im looking for. This summer ill be putting aside 7000 for my stock 06 2.4l cobalt ss. What is the most HP possible with a budget of around 7000. I have read up on turbos and superchargers but for 7000 which would give me the most. Keep in mind that I can put more than 7000 into it. Thanks and i await your opinions!

Use the 7k as a down payment on a SS/TC.

zzp air/air turbo kit, ported head with springs, fuel system, and a good wheel/slick setup. 11second time slips easy.

"Stage 3 adds 11 psi and 150+ HP" So that puts the car at roughly 300hp, how else can you bring the hp up. Is it possible to hit 400?

well i have the 2.0 sc and i'm replacing my internals at the 300-325 mark. my understanding and members correct me if i'm wrong but the 2.4 is stronger but on a turbo kit i would look into internals around the same numbers just to be safe. not sure wut the 2.4 is capable of stock internals

i would email zzp and ask what their experience is with the 2.4 and what they recommend. tell them ur budget and ur goal and they will help you with piecing together a package. they're really cool and have some of the most experience

man i'm gunna be honest if you have 7 grand to put aside i would suggest taking that money plus trading in your ride keep say about 1000 of that money for mods and put the rest towards a camaro ss or mustang gt or even the v6 versions of those cars. putting that kind of money into a 2.4 cobalt is a waste of time if you got that type of cash to play with. hell the new hyundai genesis coupe has 348 hp stock. just think if you bout one of those and put a 1000 bucks into mods you be over 400hp easily.

^ thats it.

Seriously think about it. Your going to put $7 grand into a car thats not worth any more money once you do that. And you SERIOUSLY shortened the life on the car. Especially think about transmisison, clutch ect not just hp.

Id put $4500 down on a TC and have $2500 for intake/dp/exhaust/intercooler/cp/tune. And you will run 12's and be realiable.

I seriously regret it already, putting money into my 2.2, although it was a ton of little stuff not more than like $200-$300 its added up now and im abit over $2k that id really like to have right now.

Sell your car, take that money, and the $7000 and go and buy a used WS6.

Done.
