my 2.4s short story so far! (56k warning)
Im bored its sunday... so will throw these up...
I traded my Supra and Cordia after problems with the speed shop that was working on the cordia and the engine in the supra letting go. I traded both of them and got 690 for each car on trade. I decided to get the cobalt to get out of modifying cars for a while and figured a cobalt would be a good car because id never want to modify it........ So I will let the pics tell the rest of the story
What I traded for the Cobalt
Kept the eclipse
When I first brought her home.
ZZP midlength header
ZZP midlength DP next to the LE5 auto dp (it had to come off manual zzp pipes will not fit auto 2.4s.)
LNF 160mph cluster
Moog FE5 sway bar endlinks next to the stock FE3 endlinks. Steering response feels a bit sharper and more responsive.
Eibach Pro kit springs (rear) Next to stock FE3 rear (FE3 is the same as FE5 rear)
Eibach Pro kit springs (front) Next to stock FE3 front (FE3 fronts appear to be their own but must be closer to LSJ FE5's)
Before springs
After springs no real difference in ride height. the factory rear rake is a bit less. Ride quality on most surfaces is near stock. When its rougher you can tell it has different springs in it. Cornering is a lot flatter.
Will be adding more pics late this coming week when the gen 4 projectors and twin 6k hid kits come in. Also waiting on zzp for my new downpipe.
Keep in mind the springs have only been on for half a week so they still have to settle. But definitely liking them. The gap also looks bad due to the stock SS/NA wheels and tires.
With SS/SC or SS/TC wheels it would look a lot better!
Shes near stock but small lil things have made this car so much more enjoyable yet most people that ride in the car cant tell anything besides the tint has been done. So I take that as a compliment honestly.
Heres a video of it when it had the header and downpipe on (the zzp rubbed on front sway bar due to the clocking of auto engines)
Mods at this point - ZZP 1 3/4 midlength header 3 inch dp catted into a 2.5 catback flange - Jet Stage 2 module - Injen SRI - 93 octane
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pn19HjHXbCw
Will get better pics later.
But for now heres the most recent update.

The SS/TC rims should look really nice on your car man. I'm kinda going the same route as you with that stealth look and build up the performance and handling aspect. Your definetly doing your car the right way very clean looking with no rice! I cant wait to see more pics.

The drop is pretty much as advertised. about .5 in the rear. same days it looks closer to 1 inch others closer to the 1/2 inch. I honestly do love the springs. They inspire a lot of confidence and feel great around town or at 120mph. I do wish the car sat a bit lower. But its nice handling better without worrying about scraping.

That Cobalt looks great man, yeah those SS/TC rims look sweet, almost convinced it was one lol. Yeah I choose to go with the SS/SC Rims instead. The only part I didn't like was swapping out Tire Pressure sensors from my stock rims onto the SC rims. I also saw your vid nice 0-60

But thanks for the compliment!
And because i was bored today and had some of gm's rattle can victory red touchup paint I decided to paint my bowtie. I wet sanded polished and buffed it out after this pic.
Still debating on fully debadging it. Right now it just has cobalt sport left on the trunklid. I took off the chevy badge and side gm badges.

Im really liking the wheels. Currently my tpms system is off. We couldnt get the valve stems out without tearing them. So I have to order new ones. As far as looking like a tc well the lip and brakes are in the future. But I want the recaro seats. So it might confuse some people.
But thanks for the compliment!

I've been seriously debating on removing my logo on the back of the trunk lid also. I already added a high rise spoiler on mine so to me doesn't look like a sports coupe any more, just looks like a custom cobalt now lol.
The only mods I've done so far is a K&N Typhoon, Ark DT-S Exhaust, of course ss/sc rims and also switching from low to high rise.

Yeah on Monday I have to go to walmart I know a buddy of mine who is willing to trade out my sensors on my SS/SC rims, I bought right Valve stems to make it happen. I can't wait to make that darn tire sensor light go away. One of the drags of having an 08+ model lol.

And yeah I have to order the new valve stems (like 7-9 bux each)
Mods so far arent much.
LNF gauge cluster
Moog FE5 endlinks
Eibach Pro kit springs
SS/TC wheels
4th gen projectors
ddm 6k hid kits for lowbeam and the fog/driving lights
Jet Stage 2 module
ZZP midlength header with a high flo cat (about to go back on)
Tint
DD 1508 8 inch sub (1 cubic foot box tuned to 38hz 600rms going to the sub)
and thats about it.
This month im either ordering the slp loudmouth or some recaro seats (will install the heaters into them)
As well as new brakes (probably run EBC red stuff pads).
And thats it for this month.
Coming up a new amp a headunit and some kind of forced induction (cant stand being this slow....)

Yes they are. For the most part they fit better than the stockers
heres a few more pics. Since my families car was here figured id get a kinda sorta before and after pic.
Both cars were identical to each other. Even purchased the same day.
Figured this is a good way to show the difference in the springs wheels tires headlights and tint.
And man am I so glad to be off of those SS/NA wheels!!! I didnt really realize it until this pic

Nice, yeah now I'm thinking and which I should of already posted up new pics of what my 2.4 looks now. I know the high rise makes the rear look higher but I'll be lowering it soon, looking at the for sale section just trying to get a front and rear lip from an SS/SC is like trying to find the right oil filter for your car. Man you put some serious money into your car so far, that ride is lookin sweeter everytime you post a new pic lol.
Oh yeah at walmart they have those same tire valve stems 3 bucks a pop
