Naturally Aspirated 2.4 mods

^ you guys crack me up. if you have nothing positive to add get your face fucked, im sick of having to sift through meaningless and just plain stupid posts. answer the question or move on.
I have the same car. 06 2.4 5 speed. its got 136K miles and runs like a champ. dont be shy they take a good beating.
if you have a 5spd i would go with a TWM Short throw FIRST! makes a huge difference in the feel of the shifting and seems to make it much more enjoyable to drive. and a CAI and a full exhaust is good. theres so much you could list.... id say to start there and see what you still want out of it after.
for the $20K you spend on a SS/TC you could build one hell of a Nova, Camaro, or a Mustang.

I definitely agree on the TWM. I've got one too. Improves shifting immensely. I also have a the Powell Raceshop F23 rotated mounts. It essentially eliminates the rubber band effect you get when engaging the clutch either from rest or shifting.
Next I suggest getting an intake. i have the K&N but lots of peeps swear by Ingen. Takes your pick.
For exhaust i would go for a basic header and downpipe. A real bargain for 2.4 downpipes is to drop in an OEM LSJ downpipe. It makes a nice improvement cheaper than aftermarket. (I'm running the GMPP honed manifold and LSJ downpipe in mine.)
If you want to save a little, keep the stock cat back. It is common to the LSJ and not that restrictive. An aftermarket catback "may" give you a little more power, but most buy a cat back strictly for the sound. (Posers!) Plus a cat back will set you back another $500 bux give or take. Get the header and downpipe first.
Lastly after getting the intake and exhaust sorted out, get a tune. The two most popular routes at the moment are Trifecta and HP Tuners.
If you carefully source out used parts, you should be able do all this for $1000, and although your car will not be phenomenally faster, it will be more enjoyable to drive.

^ agrred 100%. i have the TWM and the K&N. Used headers and DP's go for about $200 or less, and then all you'll need is gaskets. i have a Megan 2.5 Cat back. but if i could do it over, id buy the CTI over the axel pipe and throw a Turbo muffler on there. the Tune will be the most expensive.

Dfz24 your turbo right? I think I remember your Sig but I'm on my phone and can't see. Anyways for the best turbo set up possibly you should have as close to a completely non-restrictive set up as possibly. This is because it allows the turbo to spool faster (better acceleration but no HP gain) while also putting far less strain on the turbo/manifold which can cause seal failures and mani cracks. The backpressure allowing more timing in the midrange is actually a bad thing because it puts even more strain on the turbo. Not knocking your tuner or anything this is just what I learned in school. If I were you id do cti over axle then just a striaght pipe back, but keep the resonator. If your catted it won't sound too bad
Sorry for the threadjack op

Yes, you bought a factory fast car, probably put some bolt-on's on it and then got someone else to tune it....I'm impressed? LUL WUT?!?!11!?!?11??!!
I take much more pride in taking a car that wasn't meant to be fast and making it faster, yes its not ecomonical but who cares, where is the fun when someone else does all the work for you?
And for the dude who said I drive a sunfire, yes, I do drive a Sunfire....it makes 169whp All-Motor and runs faster than 50% of the SS/TC's on this site. 100% built and tuned by myself.
I like working on my own car, buying a factory fast car is the "easy way out" IMO, its the least amount of time and effort to go fast......that might be appealing to some....but not to me.
Super ******* cool story bro
