Need help with thermostat replacement
I've been looking for something useful for replacing my thermostat.
My coolant reading on the DIC was --- and would sometimes read correctly.
I bought an Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor and replaced it, and reset my codes with an OBDII.
That was less than 3 weeks ago. It was all working just fine, and it started doing it again so I bought an ACDelco thermostat because not only was my coolant temp not reading out, but the outside temperature also started to not read.
I've got the thermostat (GM#: 12615097).
If it makes any difference I have a 2006 SS LE5 with an automatic transmission.
I've seen the black and white diagrams with numbers and the Haynes manual pictures on other threads, but nothing has been that useful to me.
Like I said, I replaced my ECT sensor recently, so I now have no problem locating that sensor and spilling coolant all over the parking lot of O'Reilly's (lol).
Pictures would be amazing if someone is able to help me, and if anyone knows that tools I need to do this, I'd appreciate it. Also a description such as "1 inch above the ECT sensor next to the red wire" or something like that would help.
Thanks alot in advance. I'm pulling 10mpg less than normal :/

The thermostat is on the right side of the engine between the fuse box and the head. Should be a little ball shaped area with hoses going in and should just need basic tools.
That being said
