New injectors and tune!

Attention!!! Use Your Stock 2.4l Injector Clips When You Swap!!!! If You Don't, The Original Ss/sc Clips Will Pop Off!! It Just Happened To Me On The Highway, But Luckily I Had The Tools And The Other Injectors And Clips In The Car. Beware!! Fuel Will Spray Everywhere!!!

Tuning for larger injectors?
Regarding HP Tuners and how to tune for larger injectors, I'm a bit confused. Here is a link to the HP Tuners How-To on tuning larger injectors:
http://www.4cyltuner.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=5
According to that, all you need to do is change the injector constant using this forumla:
Injector Constant = Old Constant * (Old Injector Size / New Injector Size)
Is that really all there is to it? Earlier in the thread, Pskostevo said:
No, I guess that would have worked too, but I just calculated the Flow rate the good old fashioned way. 34/24=1.4166667 x all values in table.
Sounds like he used an inverse formula and changed many values, not just one.
Can someone please post up some screenshots and show what exactly needs to be changed in HP Tuners to tune the 2.4L for larger injectors?

There is no injector constant on the 2.4L or the 2.0L. That was used on older motors, you actually have to adjust an entire flow table. But the principle behind calculating the difference still remains the same.

Well GM Parts Direct won't ship to Canada, but NewGMparts.com (Puritan Pontiac) would. It was $68 from them plus ~25 shipping, which will still be cheaper than local even with tax and brokerage when it arrives.

Good deal, junk yards are still a dime a dozen, but then again not everyone wants to go fight aids infested dumpster rats for injector harnesses.

2.2L harness
Actually colbaltcrusin, I don't know where you could find out about tunes. I learned all my info from pyskostevo here in AZ.
Well I'm gonna let you guys in on a little secret. There is no special wire splicing or cutting needed. Don't even need to take out the electical tape. The special harness needed is none the less a 2.2l harness. Everthing is plug and play and I have to say the easist mode. Only took 10-15mins max. Then you just have to have it tuned.
I say $50 is a fair price. Our buddy is getting some for around that price. By the way the price for the 2.2l harness was $31.00 my cost. Don't know list price since I get employee discount.
I just returned from the Chevy dealer with my 2.2l injector harness, and guess what?
It doesn't fit my ss/sc injectors. The harness clips are much bigger than the injector fittings. I ordered GM part#1582220 which is supposed to fit a 2005 2.2l.
Again, this part doesn't fit, so don't order it.
So i can get the 2.2l ecotec cobalt harness for the 2.0 stock injectors for my 2.4 cobalt engine. gees that sounds weird for all that crap.. if thats what im reading will that work. so i read alittle bit the correct part # is 15411879. for the harness 2.2l for stock 2.0 injectors. now all i should have to do is put the new injectors in and that harness and then all my exhaust and intake mods and then take it to get tuned and should run fine correct.

No, it is not a COBALT harness it is a CAVALIER/SUNFIRE harness. Many people have ordered the cobalt 2.2L harness because they have not paid attention. It is specifically the part number listed in this thread. You are correct #15411879.
AGAIN DO NOT ORDER THE 2.2L COBALT HARNESS. :-) I have to strongly clarify that because people are confusing the matter.

Not at dealer is it
so you think that part # is at the dealer under say a cavi from 04. cuz the # comes up for a 05 06 balt 2.2 and its the harness?? do you think it could have the same # but its different harness and for the cavi from 04 is that right. or where could i get one....

yes 04 cavi/sunfire 2.2(ecotec) fits and works nothing older, anything older is all one huge engine harness. Lovethesox's car gained about as much power from the tune/injectors as he did from the header but thats just sotp/butt dyno. Dyno on monday @1pm!
#219
Cool
So i have to find a 04 cavi harness with this part num that i have. gees i wonder if anyone on here has them... pffh anywhos let me know how that tune and stuff works and that dyno the numbers on that harness and injectors.

I've been running the injectors and slight tune for a while and no issues. I dont feel very much of a gain after a while, but I think its also running pig rich. That wont matter soon though once I get my T04E in and put on
#223
Was yours the one that had the injectors put in wrong?
#224
hey stevo
hey stevo meant to say thanks the tune that you sent me i used it in conjunction with wickedss2005 hptuners and got him to unlock all the 06 2.4s and we put in the 2.0 injectors in my 2.4 and tuned her up and runs amazing. definatly have to dyno her and run it down the track.
