About the only compromise I would offer is:

I just ordered a Dashhawk from Vector and talked to them about their tune. They offer a cable and PC software that allows them to e-mail you the tune and you install it. With the Dashhawk you can log the results, send it to them, and they can re-tune and send you another version. By zeroing in this way you can actually get a custom tune long distance. This would be great for people who live in the boonies and can't get to a shop (or don't feel comfortable learning tuning, or are uncomfortable with intense PC use - I know they're out there, especially people closer to my age, myself NOT included).

This is the first use of true internet tuning I've seen, and I'm excited about the possibilities. Eventually we'll be able to plug our car in, drive it, the shop will download a tune, and we'll be done, all without going anywhere (going to a shop, that is). This is pretty close to that.

Trouble is, I believe Vector charges like $400. I specifically asked if they used HPTune and he said they use their own software. They aparently developed the tune for Haan for the turbo kit.

I've never delt with Vecor and am not offering a direct endorsement, but I find this possibility intriguing.

I don't know about you...but that sounds like a pain but a easy way to get to know your UPS guy lol

It just doesn't seem worth it when you can easily buy HP Tuners and start to educate yourself on how it works. People (not you Lewi of course) need to stop being so afraid and start learning.

mail order tune FTW...I'll take it.

I don't wanna learn and can't anyway because there is no HPT for 2.2ers

I'm sure me sending them a log with my Dashhawk would be a hell of alot more accurate and safe then what I could come up with

I'm not one much on the mail in tunes but I have one of the programs that Westers uses and I sent them my stock and my tuned flashes and let me tell you westers woke my car up easily by 75% I went to get the car dyno'd fri but the guy was busy. Now this tune was reflashed in canada and I live in Calif. I will post the results next week but . but I have to my props to Lyndon at westers who sent me a way better tune than I had my , and the seat of the pants dyno that I have until next week is unbeliveable. I have an Auto and he said lets have some fun with the trans and tune and all I can say is Westers has my attention and tuning business. Plus the return e-mail was Quick and responsive
