Now if only we'd get a 2.4SS model specific CAI......

Owell, its good to see the aftermarket finally heeding notice of the 2.4SS. Hell, this week alone I've had to explain why my Cobalt SS isn't supercharged to 5-6 people at my new job. Seems no one around here knows it even exists......

But for now my AEM CAI serves me just fine!

K&N has an intake for the 2.2L also Injen has one for the 2.2.

I think this will fit the 2.2, however it is designed for the 2.4L Cobalt

Maybe we need to start a thread for 2.4L SS K&N Typhoon Users? Installation pics, modifications to promote cold air flow, DYNO results, etc.

considering 2.4 users have been using 2.2 intakes all along, and K&N already has a Typhoon intake for the 2.2 that 2.4 users have been using as well (TheDriver has the K&N 2.2 Typhoon intake on his 2.4), what are the REAL differences on this intake?

Did you get yours yet? Mine is supposed to arrive August 1st. It'll be interesting to see if this thing actually throws a code. I've used K&N intakes/filters on my last two cars (both GM) without any issues.

Installation of the K&N Typhoon was very easy.... removing the standard air box was the hardest part since I don't have a lot of metric tools. The removal and install took maybe an hour total as I had numerous interuptions while I was working.

You do NOT have to remove the "air silencer" which is inside the wheel well panel and behind the passenger side headlight!

The "Drive" test: Throttle response is improved. When you go WOT, everyone HEARS IT!... great big low growl that gets louder as the engine winds up. Accelleration improved.... the 55MPH "passing" accelleration is awesome as the automatic transmission kicks down on WOT and the engine wails as it winds up heading to 80 MPH!
