No one has asked what transmission you're running. If it's an automatic, then the 140 whp stock is normal. There is quite a bit more drivetrain loss with an automatic over a 5 speed......not 40% loss, but it is more like 25% or so compared to 15% with a manual.

umm...not really. the transmissions in these cars are pretty good at transferring power. 25% drivetrain loss would mean an auto 2.2 dynos at 112whp....thats civic territory I've NEVER seen a cobalt dyno that low. Honestly, i'd go like 12% drivetrain loss through a manual, and 14% through an auto.

I'm not 100% sure (numbers on other computer) but I think my cobalt put down like 152whp? And it is an automatic 2.4 with AEM intake and axle back exhaust.
My main concern is this: My car has 42,000 miles on it now, I am becoming hesitant of getting it tuned. But the sight of 8-12 whp from just a tune is so tempting. That would be nice
