wrong section, however he can expect to completely rebuild the motor, and expect to pay over $10,000 in TOTAL modifications.

Just ? for all you 2.4 turbo's. I'm saving up for the Hahn right now actually. How difficult is it to install? Can in be done in a weekend at home w/ the proper tools?

its a bit of a pain in the ass to install...nothing too incredibly bad.

i started the install, but had to do other things, so i took it down to the local dyno shop for them to install it.

but yes...you can install it at home on a weekend with basic tools.

yeah water lines have to be moved and getting the turbo hetween the engine and firewall isnt easy as running a return fuel system can be a big job dropping the tank.

So celica..hows your car comin?

I had mine tuned to 350whp (14psi)...coming to work this morning, found a civic to play with on the way...

Turbo goes woosh...then i hear a LOUD sound/whiste...and car ran like ****.

Get to work, i popped my boost line for my boost gauge off, so ive gotta take it easy until i get some more zip ties for it.

You have the garret kit right? the disco potato turbo cannot flow 350whp worth of air. Ill be impressed with 300whp. That sucks though, hope you get it figured out.

Hey celicabalt, what mods have you done to your auto tranny. It's only rated up to 210 ft/lbs, I was wondering if you've done anything at all with it to strengthen it or if you just let it stand as is.

Where do you think its rated for 210? last i read it was 310.

ive got my race tranny sittin in my garage. im trying to push the limits of the tranny until it breaks.

I have yet to find a 2.0 LSJ that can keep up with me.

However, im always open for a challenge.

Ive raced a few 320whp (dyno'd) cobalts, and won (back when i was 260whp)

i bored and polished the turbo/header, plus ive got an upgraded compressor wheel.

it seems to be doing the job fine, however I have not dyno'd it yet.

Well, my car is hitting the dyno on the 24th so hopefully i come out with 300whp. My auto tranny has an added tranny cooler on it and tranny tuning.

im so glad you are doing that. im really curious as to the true breaking point of this tranny since i know gm underrates them.

Hey Celica,

What boost were you running for your topic opening post for those specs?

You don't have any internal mods (other than injectors n spark plugs) to help the engine cope with the extra power?

And of course the dumb question, what kinda MPG are you getting for regular driving?

Right now im running 9psi but i have a clogged cat so im not making alot of power. i 1st ran a 13.7 and now i can only get a 13.9 with the clogged cat.

No internals in the engine stock there.

about 28 mpg is what i get.

Not bad mileage man. You don't need any internals to take that extra boost? I'm new to all of this, I thought anything past 8 and you needed some internals to handle it. Not saying what your doing is bad, I'm just trying get as much info about this stuff as I can.

Incorrect info. Ppazz had the first custom built turbo setup... as in the first to put a turbo on the 2.4L that wasn't a Hahn kit. It was built well before you ever bought a Hahn kit... it just wasn't installed until after you had the Hahn kit put on yours.

The setup didn't have problems... the turbo blew due to a clogged oil line. Then the entire setup was sold rather than putting it back on.
