2007 Pontiac G5 GT

with 2.4L Engine (VIN B -- RPO LE5) and 5 Speed Manual Transmission (RPO M86 or MA5)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This bulletin is being revised to add the Pontiac G5 GT and the 2007 model year. Also, provided are the calibrations for these additional models and the requirement to contact Techline. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 06-06-04-051 (Section 06 -- Engine/Propulsion System).

This is to advise owners who intend to use their 2.4L LE5 engine-equipped vehicle in competitive driving environments under high ambient temperature conditions and/or high loads for extended periods of time of the availability of an engine calibration that will allow the engine to operate at full power under these conditions. This calibration in no way alters the power output of the engine under normal operating conditions. When using this calibration, full synthetic oil (Mobil 1 5W30 or the equivalent) is required.

These calibrations are to be used in Pontiac Solstice, G5 GT and Chevrolet Cobalt SS specific model vehicles only. These calibrations do not apply to all LE5 engines.

Calibration Information
To obtain the calibration, contact Techline (1-800-828-6860 English or 1-800-503-3222 French) to obtain a VCI number. This will be required to allow access for specific VINs.

Nothing, all this does is turn the fans on sooner to keep the temps down.

So this is a tune from GM? Has anyone gotten this?

So you have to then run synthetic which is fine but does it improve performance at all? Who gives a **** about fans coming on earlier if the performance is not increased.

well it would help if your planning on forced induction which increases the temp. so this is a good thing for the few with turbo's

but would it do anything for the rest of us??

FYI.. running synthetic in the first place lowers your operating temp by 5-10 degrees...
