Point at which power kicks in
#55
The simple answer to that 14 month old problem is that the flow tables at that time were being calculated off of provided information that the injectors at hnd were 34# and that was not the case. I had based the fuel tables off of the difference of what I was told was 24# and 34#, and errors resulted in the fueling as a result. As for the commanded AFR, it was never set below 12.1 so I don't know what you saw when you say 9's.
And the reaction does have a part to do with a torque table and timing table, and if the stock delay is set to ~8,000rpms then why does it kick in at 4,000rpms? And why does the timing table have a magical dip right at the ~3,750-4,250 rpm range? And why are there tables limiting torque at below 3 or 4k rpms?
Take your disrespect and shove it up your ass. If you ever made a mistake you'd never let yourself live it down. You must do everything right the first time. I took a step forward to help the 2.4L owners at a time when noone else was working with them and I presented them with some hope, some solutions, and a place to start. You can sit back and criticize from behind your shadows, but I am out there helping these people every day and trying to build this community into something worth logging into everyday.
Go be a comment sniper in another forum where people play by those shallow rules.
*edit* And also some people passed those files around without asking my permission or asking what they were to be used with so they put tunes on their cars for the wrong injectors, and for cars with and without CATs. That would be their fault if that were the case. Any other problems caused to people that I intended them to be used on were my fault, and not very frequent. There were a few people out there who asked for the tunes, yet a lot more people out there who are using them thanks to people like DOC and other tuners who couldn't wait to get their hands on them. As most people know, I tune each car independently and treat each person different. I only send out generic files or recycles when people ask for some info, or don't provide details.

The whole fiasco about 2.4 LE5s needing the bigger injectors was a fallacy. When tuned PROPERLY, the IDCs never exceed 80%. FACT! As far as AFRs logged into the 9's, yep it was because someone overlooked tune parameters in other areas that created an over-rich condition on hard pulls. (HINT>>> Cat over temp!).
Take YOUR disrespect and.... Hey, I'm 61 and have a MSME, worked for GM, consulted with race teams, raced before you were born. A young kid, with a little knowledge ain't always a good thing! Back off, learn a little more about thermodynamics, ECM managment, etc. before you go about claiming to be an expert. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Keep BS'n people and I'll start posting screenshots of logs off some of your tunes, with explanations of why they are so far off.
Bottom line... Grow up and learn some more!!

You went selling tunes based upon wrong information. So, who's at fault? If your selling something, it should be based upon accurate information.

You may have raced before I was born, but I'll be shitting in the woods long after you are gone. Your age has no relevance.
Yes I charged money, to Terri and somehow a bunch of people got this tune and started having issues because they didn't know anything about it, and the guy flashing them to the cars didn't either. I tried to help him, and he just did not have the resources to have me help him. DOC split on him and never helped him reflashed to fix any problems. If you want to point fingers at who took the money and ran.....well there you go. Technically no money exchanged hands between Terri and I, it was a trade. I got harnesses and he got a file.
I don't see why you continue to bring up information that is old. Get over it!
And I understood the part about COT, I even mentioned it in the thread you quoted.
If anyone wants to see my mistakes, if it will help you sleep better at night, I have posted them up to ease your pains. Here are some of the mistakes in question, they were made in April 2007...........if no-one can forgive me I will understand.
BTW: Don't use this info, this is the mistakes and they won't do you any good.

I'm pretty sure I blamed myself. Oh, no I'm positive I blamed myself in there. I just don't see what you are trying to accomplish.

Okay, I've read this whole thread now. Without knowing either Psykostevo or BennyHHR. I just about pissed my pants when BennyHHR started talking about maturity, lol! You don't just come into someones thread and blatantly attack them.......now THAT's imaturity. I guess even 61 year olds need to learn proper internet etiquette. If you want to preserve any reputation that you still have, then you'd best not post in this thread........because to the average Joe like me, you look like a total douche bag. Keep it to PM's and you can bitch and whine to him all you want.

To answer some of the OP's question:
Here is a picture of your timing table. This has some play as to why you experience a lag and then a surge at 4k.
Your other options are to lower the PE Delay, and modify TQ MGT settings. Also, a full trans tune will make your B&M Shift+ look like hobo turds. Of course unless you are talking about my first tune......in which case I think that you can smell the horse so stop beating it.

wow took me a few minutes to read thru this..stop the complain and bickering...enough of it. who became pioneers of tuning the 2.4? honestly i got some info from steve and also you bennyhhr and some of it was good and some of it was helpful..there is no need to be fighting over this stupid crap..but benny man chill out..i know your very skilled and what you do but let the kid learn. we learn day by day by trial and error..how do you think ive got my car tuned and running perfect and have had many ask me about tunes on our car especially get the auto 2.4 tune on these cobalts on lock...no need to argue...thanks for listenin.
