It's a failure of a header from my experience, besides all the trouble to put it in. You won't find any dyno sheets for it making more power, because it was never tested, not even by JBP. Way too restrictive of a design to be effective, just get a conventional design like Clear Image's setup or something, or go with a shorty header or a ported LSJ manifold IMO.

if you put your thinking cap on, along with the other people that bought the retardation it is, you would think...hey, whats more effective, a shorty header that gets to the 3 inch collector, or a bunch of retarded pipes that travel for miles of curves and 90 degrees before i get to the 3 inch collector.

heck! ill take the miles of retardation to just get exhaust fumes out of a car!

I put it on my auto but honestly it is just better to go with the advice given. Go another route. If you want the sound hatrickstu's header will get you most of the sound that is kind of unique about the jbp.

To have it fit on my auto I had to drop the whole back of the front subframe. Remove some sound deadening. Loosen my power steering rack. Loosen my engine mounts. Rebend some A/C lines. Plus rotate the coolant cross over pipe. I mean its a unique header and honestly since im a 2.4 auto I was going for more of the sound than the performance. But ive heard it does give 2.4s a slight gain on the butt dyno. But that could be the placebo effect. Listen to the advice given. If your dead set on having it on your car then go for it. I was dead set and honestly some of the guys here can feel free to tell me they told me so. But I sold it for what I bought it for and only lost a bit of time skin and blood. It will be a pita to install though.

installed on my 2.4. didn't have any noticeable in increase in throttle response, power, or even sound. pain to install, especially since the exhaust manifold flange didn't line up to the stock bolts attached to the engine. had to drill a bigger hole so the flange would fit on.

old thread, but i bought this header from a friend here on CSS. He sold it at a great price, and it was in the first batch of headers that were done correctly with the electropolish finish. I have a 2.4L auto. I followed the instructions on the sheet of paper with the install instructions, and after 2 days of trying, I got the header in through the TOP of the engine. The header lined up perfectly with the gasket, but it wasn't fitting on the engine :S I could only get in one side, couldn't get both it, and I didn't understand why. Very heart breaking...

it didn't fit either when i put it on....had to make one of the exhaust flange holes bigger then it lined up and fit onto the bolts perfectly.

Mine was pushing against the coolant cross over tube and thus not fitting correctly.

There is so much stupidity and failure in this thread it's not even funny.

Here, I'll post a new rule pertaining to the JBP: if you've never owned one, shut the **** up, cause you have no clue what it is capable of.
Anyone that 'thinks' it's ****, can argue with the many people that have actually used the JBP header (including myself), that saw decent power gains.
