Quick question

Now when I had a guy install my gauges, he put the water temp gauge sender on the hose that goes straight to the coolant tank it self. Mkulrey informed me that this is incorrect. It must be, cause my gauge always reads 100 and doesn't move unless I'm idling for a little bit. Now I was wondering if I can relocate the sender (and get a new hose lol) and plug the sender into the side of the engine like my oil pressure sender instead? Halfcent has posted this picture before, and said the one on the bottom right is for water. https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/fil...oilpassage.jpg

Is that only for mechanical? Or can I do the same with my electric sender? Cause I would like to fix this error.

why not just take it back to the guy that did it and tell him to fix it?

Well being that he didn't even want to install the gauges the first time cause he wasn't "in the mood for this ****" he gets annoyed easily at everything I just really don't wanna deal with him and his attitude again lol. I had to buy new coolant cause he made all of it spill out on the floor cause he didn't have a bucket to have it drain into, and he tried using clamps but they weren't working. I don't feel like paying another 16 bucks for coolant again. Then again he does have the tools to do this **** and I don't... meh I dunno.. Also If I have to put it on the other hose and I can't put it on the side of the engine then I have 2 bring it back to him cause then he has to make the wires that connect to it longer. I'm just trying to make this as simple as possible by hopefully being able to put it on the side of the engine instead, if I can and call it a day without having to have to deal with the guy again.

Can't be fixed... you're probably gonna have to sell your car.

I installed my water temp theretoo. I think the one on the pic is only for 2.2 engines

I waslooking for that plug toobut couldn't find it. I think halfcent has 2.2 too. If anybody knows for the 2.4. Please post

Yeah I just went out now to look. There's only 3 holes. So I guess 2.4 is diff then. In terms of the sender, I just tried to turn the adapter down so the fluid is a direct hit on the sender cause the sender is pointing up in the air as seen in the pics, but it didn't make a difference. So I guess this means I need a new hose and relocate to the other hose.... =/

^^ removed a lot of the blue looms to make it less bluey

Can some one post a picture of where it's supposed to be? So that if I go back to this guy, I can point out where it belongs. I don't know where the lower radiator hose is. I don't know much about engines. So no making fun.

Looks really nice without so much blue and the polished valve cover. I wish my bay looked that clean lol.

I'm just confused as to why you need a temp gauge when the car comes with one?

Cause it's easier to see it in the corner of my eye instead of having to scroll thru the DIC all the time. I like to keep it on average MPG

Search the site for that sensor in teh 2.4 section. It might help. As far as your lower radiator hose, just find the hose on the bottom of the radiator. There should only be 1 that goes to the engine.

Is it the hose opposite to the one the adapter is currently in? The one under my intake coming out of the engine.

wait, did you put it after your thermostat??? you would want it before you t-stat, that why it reads cold until you drive it alot, the t-stat isnt open yet untill you hit operating temp. and isnt your car equiped with one from the factory??

it is, but apparently its "easier" to see with it in the gauge pod instead of the DIC

I didn't put it there, the guy I had install it did. I'm trying to figure out where it really belongs. Some one needs to post a picture.

Paying someone to mod your car is the same as paying someone to have sex with your wife, And then bragging about it when she is pregnant.

Start doing your own work man, grow a pair.
